    Statistically, the overly high birth rate should level out as the area begins to prosper. The greater the economic development, the lower the infant mortality rate, the higher the chance of children surviving, the greater investment into the education of each child, the lower the birth rate.
    It's for this reason that fighting poverty helps to fight over population.

    This has been gradually happening in the Southern Britain since 2021. Very dry autumn and winter 2021-2022 followed by a fierce hot dry summer 2022 followed by a very dry autumn 2022. Trees are already dying, farmers are seeing crop shortages. The soil is losing is structure and humus content and is unable to hold moisture. 😢

    Nice video in general but sadly, the problem of desertification hasn't been "solved" at all (not even in Niger). And furthermore - considering the (catastrophic) current situation in the entire Sahel region - we musn't act as if it was but make sure that more people realise that we're potentially facing one of , if not the worst, humanitarian crises in more than a century.
    I'm sure you didn't intend to downplay the repercussions of this topic though, and therefore you'll still get a thumbs up for this brilliantly made video from me :)

    Is it possible to create a robot/device that can plant native seeds at high speed, just when the optimal weather conditions like rain are about to happen in these arid landscapes. Why are we thinking of terra forming Mars where as we are loosing our own planet. These robots can be solar powered and can be refilled with seeds using drones.
    Why is no one developing such devices? Theoretically, this robot's only task is to push a seed 2-3 inches below the surface just after a rain. We can use Mars rover like driving logic in this device to protect it. Thoughts?

      deserts are adapted to it and have rain, and the wildlife is also very adapted to it.
      desertification can happen in places that used to be full of forests and can ruin people's homes, and animal' s habitats, these places arent beautiful, and can ruin people's lives if not taken care of.
      I hope that clears it up :)

    What about education on population control ?

    • @calandoful
      @calandoful 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True I thought about that but the issue might be traditions and the need for many children for manual labour on the farm, collecting wood etc.

    •  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When pension and high paying jobs, then talk about poplation control. Over population is not the issue in Africa.

    • @jbbuzzable
      @jbbuzzable 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Education and population are always a concern, but I don't think that is what this video is about.

    • @areebahina2261
      @areebahina2261 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      people usually have more children so they can have more ways to earn for the family, because poverty is high and getting good jobs is hard without proper education, I hope this clears it up :)
