    yayyyyyy. M Graham is my favorite brand for both watercolor and oil paints. I always get a tube or two from them every time there is a sale.

      Yasssss! Glad to know that this is your favorite brand! M. Graham's PO48 is so exquisite and their PR209 is noticeably clean-tinting.

      I can see why you love this Quinacridone Rose tube. It's an elegant PV19, Patty! Lovely seeing you here!

    Thanks for the way you shown off these beautiful colors. These videos help me decide which paint to buy when my stock runs low. These videos also help me not to buy paint I don’t need since I can live them vicariously through these swatches 😅

      Hahaha, that’s wonderful! Decision-making in watercolor painting is a necessary skill and paint purchasing is a major component of that. You are always welcome to enjoy them through these videos! Thank you for being here!

    Thank you, I enjoyed your thoughtful swatching of these paints, the pace gave me plenty of time to watch the way the paints moved on the paper and I appreciate the way you showed mixes which adds another dimension.

      I appreciate your words immensely. Thank you for catching that! We work with water so I figured that capturing on film and sharing the way the pigments behave on a wet or moistened surface would offer extra visual interest. Thank you for being here!

      Fantastic! I am glad to hear that. Autumn is my favorite time of the year so these mixes really capture some of my favorite themes. Thank you for being here! ♥

    I believe the quin set was my first M. GRAHAM purchase a few years ago and now I have over half their line ( I had basically no self control at that point lol). I prefer the DS versions of the Quin Rose and Quin Red but wow their yellow/oranges in the set just knocked me off my feet. My favorites of the line are the blues, though. The indanthrene blue, turquoise, ultramarine, manganese and cerulean are just gorgeous. The ultramarine pink, I love too, even though it's totally impractical for my typical subjects. What can I say, I love pretty things!

      Thank you for sharing your story! You certainly love pretty things! M. Graham's PO48 (Quinacridone Rust) definitely stands out here.

    Quinacridones are some of my favorite colors. While I don't have any by M. Graham, I'll probably get some soon. I love how active they are wet in wet.

      Fantastic! I have my preferred Quinacridones but I have to say that these ones from M. Graham are robust and richly-pigmented.

    another beautiful swatching video ;-))) thank you once again !! Mgraham was the first professional brand that I restarted my painting journey with , after a 20 year hiatus.. When I started swatching them, I felt like I was swatching fine jewels .. I love their paints.. They are also a wonderful company , customer service wise.. I love supporting a company like Mgraham... Norakag, here 💜

    Quin Burnt Orange (Quin Rust/PO 48) is one of my favorite pigments of all time. I stocked up on M Grahams Quin Rust and Nickel Azo Yellow so I can always be able to mix my favorite version of Quin Gold (PO 48 + PY 150) in whatever way I want it to lean. Odd that my favorite watercolor color of all time is Quin Gold when my actual favorite color is green! I think it's cuz that particular mix of Quin Gold is the literal color of sunlight and I like beautiful strong sunlight and shadow in my paintings.

    • @stiviwonders
      @stiviwonders  ปีที่แล้ว

      Incredible, thank you! That's a helpful advice for those who are also in love with this Quinacridone Gold mixture and I hope they're reading/watching. If Nickel Quinacridone Gold is inaccessible, your recipe is the best route to take.
      Personally, I prefer PO49 because I use it as a mixing color. Many years ago, someone told me that we naturally gravitate towards what nurtures our soul so your strong connection with Quinacridone Gold runs through that same vein. Thank you for being here!

    Excellent demo.. I owned almost 50 colors from M. Graham. It's a pure no nonsense watercolor, with high tinting strength, also 90%colors from M. Graham are pure pigments, it's sad this company won't expand its color range and it's only limited to 72 .

    • @stiviwonders
      @stiviwonders  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I appreciate your kind words and what a massive collection you have! Their paints are shockingly beautiful so I can't blame you for having that sentiment about their conservative collection. The bright side though is that their mono-pigmented watercolors are excellent mixers. From there, we could create a whole new world of mixes. Thank you for watching!

      I AGREE! Over 95% of my paints are single pigments..I won’t write poor Stivi another novella on why-I just prefer pure single pigments. I have all of the Rosa’s single pigments, probably about 10 from white nights..I lost track of the rest because I also have a large collection of single pigment handmade paints-including my absolute favorite, PB33; but I also have a nice big full + pan of PO49. I do LOVE the quins, their transparency and vibrancy! After dinner tonight, I made a list of pans to take out for painting tomorrow. Although the leaves haven’t come close to their peak here; I suspect this cold, wet weather WILL push things along! In the meantime, across the street in the park we have 2 young trees, a white Birch and a beautiful little red maple; who have decided to jump the gun and are in full Fall brilliance! SO, grabbing things for tomorrow when I can hopefully catch a break in the rain!

      @polgara28 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use M Graham daily, even made some mixes of my own in pans. Now I'm expanding my palette to include a few Michael Harding colors, such as potter's pink and titanium buff. They work very well together.

      And YOU ARE SO KIND AND GRACIOUS! Your "light" registers a strong tonal contrast against the darkness that sometimes comes with the TH-cam territory. Thank you for being here, for giving this platform the shine and luminous spirit that it needs to have. No pun intended! 😆

    PS I NEED THAT PV19! My PV19’s are all more violet or purple…beautiful, but..AND I LOVE Rosa’s PR122, but still not the pink I’m looking for! I just added this to my list for next month!

    • @stiviwonders
      @stiviwonders  ปีที่แล้ว

      Perfect! In diluted form, this PV19 can be soft and dainty. In concentrated brushloads, the pigment strength offers pink supremacy. Haha! The description box below has the link. Thank you for watching!

      @@stiviwonders I joined your IG today and shared with my daughter (the REAL artist in the family 🥰). I don’t post there…yet. I only downloaded it because my daughter, current Chinese tutor and members of an international support group for people with my genetic disorder.. I was a co-founder back in the 90’s, but my precious late son was much more active than me. Thank you for the response on the other video and sorry for rambling. For some reason this year seems even harder than last. I miss my world traveling Prince and he’s just been on my mind a LOT lately…I’m sure part of it is his friends are always checking up on me. 🥰. A few weeks ago I controlled a remote controlled robot, in Shanghai at an art museum, with one of CJ’s friends. If you know any Chinese, LOTS of 对不起 duìbuqǐ! And 对不起, 我不是故意的。 Duìbuqǐ, wǒ bù shì gùyì de! (I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it! (Bumping into people & walls…at least I didn’t damage anything or hurt anyone! 😂 ). It’s a BLAST…I’m just not good at video game controls AND I was told I need more work on my tones.. I can’t remember what I said but the whole room started laughing at this old American lady TRYING to speak Chinese! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

      Thank you for following me on Instagram! I am glad that you were able to take that trip abroad. Albeit nostalgic, it must have also felt great to be in a place that mattered to you and your son. You are allowed to feel all these emotions. It is never linear. Everything about CJ will never leave your heart and mind. You will simply learn how to manage these moments. I am certain that you've made a universe of memories with him and those will hopefully help tide you over when waves of grief come in with unusually strong currents. Sending you hugs! 🥰

    @Stiviwonders I heard awhile ago that PO48 was going to be discontinued. Do you know anything about this?
    I LOVE all the Quins. I have a few from M Graham, and I really enjoy the re-wet ability of their paints. Very lovely video Stivi - keep them coming.

    • @stiviwonders
      @stiviwonders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! If you love Quinacridones, I have more coming up in a few weeks! The Quins are the Queens of Kings. Haha! There are unverified/unconfirmed rumors about PO48 being discontinued after the PO49 news. It is sad but since it's still out there, we still have a chance to stock up. Thank you for being here!

    Thank you for this video. I love M.Graham (and Qor) watercolors. I PERSONALLY prefer them to DS, though I can’t tell exactly why this is. Just as a suggestion a comparison of Pyrrole reds could also be interesting. I love blues, but then when I am to paint with warm(er) reds, I am always insecure about which red to choose.

    • @stiviwonders
      @stiviwonders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are welcome and I appreciate your content suggestion! M. Graham's Quinacridone line-up is conservative in size but it's liberal when it comes to the scope of possibilities that one can make. The re-solubility factor, on top of pigment performance, is their biggest strength. I have been vacillating about the Pyrrole film idea but your recommendation is encouraging me to give it a green light. A clean-tinting Pyrrole is necessary for some of the themes that I paint. So far, I have been loving the sophistication of Michael Harding Watercolours' Pyrrole Red and that of Isaro's. Thank you for being here!
