It's true...
Big fish love cut mullet.
Mullet are super oily and extra stinky.
And once you cut them open, they release a massive amount of scent into the water!
So in this video, you'll learn cut bait tips from our own Capt. Hollywood such as:
How to butterfly mullet for big fish
Rigging and casting tips
Techniques for landing and releasing a tarpon
And watch Luke land a 100 lb. tarpon!

Rod & Reel ?
Man this guy needs his own Channel!! Best catch and landing of a tarpon and strategy I have ever seen!!
Man, Hollywood needs his own channel. Or at least appear on this one more. He has good charisma.
totally agree
Now , THAT'S my kind of captain! I wasn't fishing and still learned a ton. Next time I go to the keys, I'll be looking you up.
Yes coming dwn to charter w Hollywood
This Captain knows his stuff 1000%. I learned something for when I go Tarpon fishing.
It's really clear instructions and so informative
💪💪
What really distinguishes Hollywood from other vids, guides, & fishermen is he's "coaching". Explaining everything he's doing and why with outstanding communication, genuine desire to educate, & confidence from years of knowkedge. I hope to have half his skills when teaching my 10yo daughter, & if not to learn patience enough to teach the grandchildren, lol.
One of my favorites from the Salt Strong family . Hollywood ! I’m a fan of them all but Hollywood’s energy is the best .
Hollywood is a BADASS! Joe and Luke are some of the baddest dudes out there! If Hollywood is coaching one of them, you know he's REAL DEAL 💯💪🏼💯💪🏼💯
Bro... thats how I grew up Tarpon fishing... Tampa Tarpon Tournament, Suncoast Tarpon Tournament, 60's and 70's, the the 90's... caught literally 100's of them what a magnificent animal... love to get with ya'll, and do some catchin'!
Right on
Have observed an extra interest on my part with this captain. Keep his involvement in videos it will ensure more views and therefore customers.👍

Great video cap
Glad you enjoyed
Great vid guys! Im getting ready for my 1st Tarpon hunt. You said a few times, "Get ready for the jump", can you please explain what exactly do you do on your end with the rod in anticipation for his jump?

Skipper contact would like to charter with him. Thc. Thanks for a great vid
Love these videos! Curious as to the rod? I see what I think is an 8000 series reel... maybe it was mentioned but I didnt catch it? Thanks.
I'm not sure of the exact model, but falcon rods or Star rods are great tarpon rods!
This guy is the best
On your knocker rig, do you use a swivel or tie the braid to the leader?
Wow, great catch
I see some monster tarpon at the boat ramp swimming around the pilings. I'm going to try this today to see what I get.
Probably wrapped around the pilings 😂🤣
@@SouthFloridaFishingClub for real lol
Great catch!
Even Joe is gonna know lol 😂
Lol thanks for watching!
What rods were you using?? Thanks !
Man's hollering at the camera sheesh
That comes from daily hollering at yankee clients to turn the reel over and quit tightening the drag.
@@Hisslave1 for real!
The article doesn't specify rod details. Just match it up for 30# main line and 2-3 oz lure weight?
How deep of water were you guys fishing in?
Awesome. Did you guys catch the tarpon on the butterfly mullet? Or it was one of the live mullet. Beautiful video.
Butter
What gloves were used to land the tarpon?

Great video.
@saltstrong Cut bait works in Islamorada because of all the fish used to being fed at Bud&Marys. I have yet to have luck in the CC/FMB area with cut bait. Would like to see what you do in SWFL/Lee Island Coast. Also, are you using offset circles or straight?

@@Saltstrong Done
wonderful
This guy is legit. Fishing dead on the bottom is the ticket midday. It's a secret not many know. The con is that you'll be catching everything else and deplete your bait supply so come loaded.
Thanks so much for your support!
We're arguing over where this is? Are you just inside and South of the small bridge by Bud N May's?
Insider Members get that info!
I heard they're darn good eating.
Not sure
He is talking to Luke like he is a client with very little experience. Just thought that was funny.
Name of rods ?
Let that big boy go, alright! To my grill!!! 🤤
So tarpon are not edible..?
Wow
I wish more fishermen boasted fish health. With that said, PLEASE be sure to care for these fish if they are not eaten.... thank you
Absolutely! We do everything we can to ensure a safe release so there is a higher likelihood of survival
👍🏼👍🏼
Screaming bro! Ahhhhhhhh
👍👍👍😍🥇😍👏👏👏
never cut towards your hand with a filleting knife, schoolboy error.
I'd be pissed if I paid for a charter and dude wouldn't STFU. I'd toss the rod in the water and swim back to shore
I'm totally with you. That video made me so happy that I use the tarpon guide I do.
Too many instructions.
I tend to agree. I’m sure the guide gets people all the time who don’t have a clue and probably gets used to it.
I know I can’t help but scream “reel!!! Reel!!!” Sometimes at my charters! 😂
100 pounds? Come on
We’re you there? Your experience catching tarpon cowboy? SMH
@@RichM0410 you are right I think is about 200
