First tarpon ever was down in Port Aransas, Texas. About 30-35 inches and caught on the smallest shrimp in the bucket. Complete luck that I got him in bc I was fishing with 12lb line and he jumped about 3 or 4 times. Insane fight and would love to catch one again

@@removedchapter1470 the idea is that the slack in the line when bowing to the tarpon makes it less likely for the hook to wiggle out or cause any more tension than needed.
If u find yourself on the Eastern shore come to oyster I'm a local watermen and I'll tell you right where to go for big Spanish mackerel where you catch all day long this time of the year
I wish I could catch some tarpon this summer, but I don't think it will happen, I bought $1,500 worth of tarpon fishing equipment and I haven't seen one yet. Maybe I'll catch my first one real soon......I hope.
pier fishing tarpon is definitly an art and takes a lot of luck and time. i fish up that way too. been doing very good on the tarpon while filming this week.
@@FatBellyFishing on Pensacola pier last Saturday a pod of 300-400 150 pounders and up came right up 20 feet of the pier. Probably 10-15 people hooked up on the tarpon. On swimbaits to cigar minnows. It's not even time for them! Great early season tarpon bite.
yes gopro 5 is good. it really comes down to how good your editing software and computer or laptop is. 4k is useless if you cant edit on a high speed device.

Vincent3303 are you supposed to bow your rod when they jump?
Removed Chapter when they jump you aim the rod tip towards them. And you never set the hook because it will rip the bait right out of their mouth.

One time I was fishing on a pier with my family in Panama city and one guy caught one that was around 140 lbs.
He fought it for an hour
