  • Hi TH-cam, it's P&T with another repair video! Today, we are fixing Apple iPad Mini 4 A1550 model. For this one, we need a new screen, and a new battery. The problem is, the iPad shuts off even at 100% of battery level. We did try the hard reset, but no luck. We will show you how to replace them both. Hope this 2021 latest tutorial helps your repair. If you have any questions related to the same repair, leave comments, I will do my best to answer your question! Enjoy!

    Hello, great video!
I'm relatively new to soldering is the flux chemical needed for this process or can you do without?
    Thanks 👍

Flux is not a must, but with Flux, it is much easier to do soldering and desoldering. It helps you to create a stronger solder joint, and it also help you to melt the solder quicker.

Hi I have a ipad mini 4 A1550 and it does nothing at all . The back warms up when I plug it in to the charger but thats it . How can I tell if the battery is the problem without opening it up ? I tried to test the battery by leaving it plugged in for a while and then I unplugged the usb side and used my tester and touched the ground and touch the positive of the tester to all the connections inside the usb connect but I got no volts at all . If the battery was good would power come out of the ipad through the usb cable ? Would a bad battery heat up ?

It is hard to tell if the battery is good or bad. The best way is to disassemble your iPad and test the battery with a multimeter or if you have an extra battery, you can replace it to see if your battery is really bad. It could be the logic board problem too. So, it is not easy to tell if it is the battery or logic board unless you test the logic board and the battery using a multimeter. (of course you will need a schematic to do it..)
