Why couldn't Apple just create a lever to release the battery, like laptops used to do years ago. That would make replacing the battery a 10 second process. Or a couple screws to take off the back panel to access the battery, like the MacBook. But I suppose it's job security for Apple. Which is why I'll never own a tablet.
Arghhhh.... you need to mention another missing required item: PATIENCE! I didn't wait long enough for the glue to come undone. Tried to pry the glass too hard. It cracked and shattered. But the battery was replaced :-) Thank you for the lesson.
And i thought the iPod touch 4th gen was hard..i used an iron instead of a pillow thing >_>..worst part was reconnecting the 3 battery contacts with a soldering machine but now it works fine....but this is a whole different game..looks easy but thats not the case in real life..one wrong move and the lcd could crack...do you guys ship to Sri Lanka or Maldives? i have tools but i would like to buy the pillow thing
I watched the same fix on another video and they made it appear to be much simpler. They used a heat gun which probably will fry the electronics. I think I'm buying a new IPad instead.
You should make a video with an iPad which has never been opened before. I've opened many iPads and other people who also have opened an iPad knows that it not that easy as shown in the video.
Ok, got my mini 4 battery in. And I can now say no, this guide does NOT work a Mini 4. Their website does have a Mini 4 tear down, which is A LOT more simpler than the older minis. The Mini 4 has the glass, 4 screws, 1 plate, and 3 cables to remove. Then the battery removal is the same.
This was the best tutorial yet, no stupid music and close up step by step, thank you
Good video
Clearly apple never thought out about incorporating a simple battery replacement when designing the mini
Thank you for the video, very useful, by minute 3 I knew I am not going to do it myself.
seen about ten ipad screen replace vids and none had the warning about putting the picks in too deep. thanks

Damn. Isn't this the most complicated battery change or what?
Is that possible to replace ipad mini 1 to ipad mini 2
I wonder home many iPad minis were killed before getting this process right :D
Does this work with an iPad mini 4?
I'd like to know too, since this video was made before the iPad mini 4 A1550 (9/9/2015).

Don't get the radon for removing the glass and digitizer. A few steps I don't think you need to do.
Super helpful. Thank you
Her voice is so nice without vocal fry.
All that to change out a battery !! Geeeez. Makes me sure want to buy more Apple stuff!
Que cosa tan complicada... perfecto para mi tesis de grado.
Pay $99 at an Apple Store instead.
