      @@OlTrev yes, I'm paranoid. I don't believe biometric never leaves the device. Im so paranoid about the phone listening to me I sometimes use a dummy microphone jack to disable the mic even though I've disabled "ok google" via settings. I won't have listening devices in my home... I'm a paranoid mess

    • @OlTrev
      @OlTrev 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@brandonkellogg9590 I understand your concern, but because Android is an open platform, things like that and things like Huawei phones 'stealing our information and sending it to China' the modders and ROMmers would have found and exposed those things. Just as they found and exposed similar things from OnePlus and a few other manufacturer's phones back in the day. This is why I don't believe that there was ever any threat to consumers using Huawei phones in the States, it is possible that Huawei infrastructure devices were relaying data back to China, but their phones were definitely not.
      Also, there is an app called Access Dots on the store that will give you a little colored dot at the top of your screen and tell you when the phone is using the mic or camera similar to how Apple just added a similar feature. That might help alleviate some paranoia.

    I ordered the Moto G Power and UAG Scout case from Best Buy on May 5 and both the phone and case was delivered in 2 days. I'm really liking the phone. Yes the Moto G Power is not a flagship phone. If you are looking for a good phone without paying the ridiculous high price for a flagship phone and can do without face unlock and NFC you can't go wrong with the Moto G Power for $250 unlocked or less if bought on a carrier. I highly recommend the Moto G Power.

    My very first Android phone was the original Moto G in 2013. Since that phone, i've had the Moto G4, G5, G7 play and I just recently upgraded to the 2020 Moto G Power. i've used a couple Samsung A Series phones, and one or two iphones, but I always come back to Moto if we're talking android. Their use of near stock, clean android and consistency with their design is so great for their price. A Moto phone is the closest thing you can get to the experience of a flagship Google Pixel, even better in my opinion due to the tweaks Motorola makes with their features. When you use Samsung phones, you realize how nice Moto really is. I am always stoked for the G series releases each year. If you are thinking about getting this phone, do it. The features they pack into this phone for the price makes it a no brainer.

    I bought both Moto G power and TCL 10L and after testing both of them out I came to the conclusion that the TCL 10L is overall a better phone. Sure you'll get 1000mah more battery life on the Moto G power but you'll get a lower display quality, lose Android pay, get 4GB ram instead of 6GB and some other minor features.
    So if battery life is the only reason you looking to buy this phone then go for it. But the TCL is the overall winner. It's 4000mah battery is still pretty good and the 6GB RAM makes it super fast. Not to mention Android pay, sharper display and 4 cameras instead of the 3 on Moto.
    P.S: TCL 10L also has face unlocking and supports T-Mobile's HD calling.

      Hey I heard the TCL is only getting one year of support

    • @beekarinsaan
      @beekarinsaan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jj1234346 don't know anything about that. I did hear they will get a free OS upgrade to 11 and then you might have to pay for updates in the future.
      One thing I forgot to add is that after I turned on the phone and used it. It seemed to use a lot of RAM. So it started with about 3.28GB of free memory and then every time I opened something it would take a lot of memory and would go down fast. So a bunch of programs running and I am down to around 1.2GB of free RAM left.
      After I checked for updates TCL downloaded an updated which seemed to have resolved this RAM issue. Just to be sure I erased and reset the phone and I opened the programs the same way as before. Guess what happened. The phone wasn't using as memory as before. Now I had about 4GB of free memory and after opening 10 programs in the background I still had about 3.12GB of free memory. I always thought only iPhones were capable of running this smooth after opening multiple programs in the background. Yet after the TCL update I realized that Android could run smoothly or even better if the memory is managed correctly.

      @@RetroRupp I like its "roominess" compared to the G7 Optimo Maxx. Both in RAM (4Gb) and ROM (64Gb). The processor is fast, too. The battery is 5,000mAh, which seems big on paper, but we already had that with the Optimo Maxx.
      The phone has "weaknesses" that any potential buyer should be aware of: no NFC, no wireless charging, and you can't integrate add on memory with internal memory. Fortunately, none of these were an issue for me personally, and probably won't be. For example, the memory space: even with all my apps, I've still 40Gb free in ROM; and I added a 128Gb chip that right now is only 15 percent full with mostly music files. I will never worry about space for the life of this phone.
      One last thing I will mention, the phone as shipped isn't defaulted to three button navigation. You have to change that in settings to get it back.

    Yes I have a Samsung s5 active. I love it, it's never had a scratch on the screen in 4 years with no cover, this because of the slightly raised edge bezel. I don't use camera much at all or watch videos much, I do that on my Samsung tab 4. I'm seriously considering getting a quality phone even if I don't use the features much. It's time for an upgrade. Thanks.

I do love the moto phones, but with the camera on the pixels being as awesome as they are, it's tough not to buy a new condition used pixel on eBay or a renewed pixel on amazon..the cameras on the pixel make it so easy to take great photos...these aren't bad, it would be great if Google gave these the same software as the pixel.

    After 6 1/2 years I have replaced my Motorola Droid Turbo with the Moto G Power and after quite a bit research I feel that this phone is the worthy successor as it combines a long battery life with all of the features that I have come to value such as gestures and navigation, along with new ones like landscape home screen, fingerprint sense and wide angle camera.
    Once again Motorola has built a smart phone that is affordable, practical and will meet all of my needs.

    I just bought one of these yesterday and it came in today. I love it so far. I can barely tell the difference between this phone and my Galaxy S9+. The speakers are epic and I love the screen size. I dislike the back of the phone though and the case range isn't very large, which is annoying for a phone that's 8 months old now. It's quite slippery, so I recommend a case or at the very least tempered glass.
