- I've been in India for 3 weeks now eating all different types of street and restaurant foods but I still haven't had any stomach problems so far. So thought I go to Delhi's worst food street and eat as much as possible from each food stand. This will not end well.

Indian here. Never, never ever touch street food. All street food made under filthy surroundings, using questionable ingredients and an absolute lack of any sort of personal hygiene by the 'chef'! 😭🤬

It’s really not that bad you can see I ate it and was fine (almost fine hehe). Just don’t do what I did.
Most people I know who went to India and only ate high end restaurant food or home cooked got really sick while everyone who ate on the street didn’t sooooo

The thing with Indian food is that it tastes sooooo good. I love it and will eat regardless. They always told me the spices will kill all the bacteria 😂

You need a really strong stomach to eat these foods my friend. 😂😂😂 indian street foods are really dirty but at the same time wonder how Thailand and Philippines who are not that rich like our country manages to use gloves while serving. None of the Indian street food vendors use gloves.

Only time I truly got sick was when I drank unboiled water. I drank from a spigot that others were getting water from. A man nearby yelled NO WHY YOU DO THAT and I told him "it is okay i will die tonight" then he tried to give me money lol. 24 hours later I was in a tiny desert village to work with an all girls school. Had to walk out of a meeting with all the school officials. I thought I was just being a wuss, that I'd only left because I was bored and didn't want to be there. But no, my body knew what was happening before I did. I spent hours squatting in a shower that only had steaming hot water, just throwing up thru both ends. The village elders sent out for fresh papaya because I couldn't eat anything else. For two days I lay on a cot with a fan that only turned on 10 minutes every hour. I think the heat helped me kill the poo typhoid. I am strong like you now
Btw I was very surprised at some of the items you found. I lived in India for 3 months, most of the food you got was normal and good like you said, but other things looked crazy. Maybe I forgot seeing street food like that because my brain blocked it out as a defense mechanism

I am not a fan of Indian food in general. I have a weak stomach especially with diary. Indian food its too strong / heavy for me. Your brave to do this but by mind full Indian food can do a tres sisenta on you in a second. Never drink the local aqua , always get it bottled. Good luck. 😅 ( please try carribbean foods). The true answer is that most street vendors didn’t speak any English either. It doesn’t matter what you say really you just indicate with body language that you interested in what they sell and say something. You could say anything.
I met couple sellers actually near New Delhi railway station that spoke Spanish but no English at all!

Dont get me wrong, I love India, was there multiple times through the years, but it never occurred to me to deliberately poison myself with food because I accidentally poisoned myself twice and I thought I was going to die - literally - because it was so bad.
