I think all sets of 55 inch are the genuine panasonics any thing under that size are the vestel sets .many people do not even know they are getting a vestel set .
Vestel made TV's are fine for the entry level mass market brands sold mainly in supermarkets, but Panasonic made a sneaky bad decision to start sourcing their lower models from there, having bulit up a reputation for slightly more expensive but better quality TV,s this was not what we expect from them. These days you need to check exactly where the TV you intend to buy is made or you can end up paying more than you need to, and won't get a better TV. Badge engineering has been going on for many years, but today it is a minefield. We know the difference, but most people don't until the set fails sooner than expected.
Well Panasonic are pulling out of the TV game internationally anyway. Seems their higher-end sets in Europe will be TPV in the future. Whether they're any better than Vestel is up for debate really!
That does not surprise me, i retired from the TV repair trade a few years ago and glad that i did now that everyone wants 55" and more TV's. The Japanese makers have been outsourcing production for years and now they are just a name one another makers chassis. Only time will tell if TPV are any better than Vestel, my friends still in the trade are kept busy with the ones from Turkey and China.@@jasejj

No such thing as a jvc made tv nor toshiba - hitachi - phillips -sharp as none are made by them, and i believe argos quite a while ago got the rights to have hitachi branded products.vestel even produce washing machines and sharp branded microwaves..not a good move.
