I've watched a number of your videos recently, having only just come across your channel. I quite like your laid back presentation - though some may think you ramble a bit sometimes ;-). Curious as to why you don't have/use a dim-bulb tester - so much more reassuring to just see the lamp stay bright in the event of a short, rather than waiting for an explosion? I have seen you using your variac but not convinced that offers a similar level of protection.

I have several but only needed for large power supply’s, not needed for low current led supplies.
