Yeah, I could expect gulliman trying to siege out perturabo from the agripina sector, only to fail miserably, but when all hope for the siege is lost, rogal would return (maybe in centurion armor, maybe not) and win the siege, getting back at perturabo for what happened at the eternal fortress, sending perty back to hell if he is really a demon prince, or killing him once and for all if he isn’t.

@@youknowwhosentyou6699 He's also a great strategist, he just adheres to a scorched earth policy a little more than he should. I would argue that the Lion is probably a better duelist than Rogal though.
As far as Dorn is concerned though, Horus specifically called him out as the greatest military commander among his brothers. He held back several traitor legions almost by himself for nearly a decade. Even then, it was only Perturabo with demonic forces (which it's been stated Dorn couldn't properly plan for) that barely broke through. And even then, the Fists would have held out long enough for Guilliman to arrive had the Emperor not gone to face Horus himself. Rogal had essentially gone mad by the time of the iron cage, or it's likely that would have gone very differently. Even with him being mentally broken at that time though, the Fists held out against Perturabo's best and most brilliant trap for quite some time, and that's with them falling into the trap about as hard as possible. Perty is unquestionably the more brilliant of the two I think, but Rogal is the better military strategist.

I've always played it as "the real answer to where he's been all this time," the white haired, wild eyed, almost Santa looking maniac in the avatar picture showing him to have grown a beard and probably a drinking problem. I played it straight, though. The Black Templars clearly taing centerstage as the most noteworthy of Rogal's sons. Everyone likes the Crimson Fists too, thanks to humble old me of course. Three of the best 40K novels, Helsreach, Rynn's World and Legion of the Damned, are centered around Imperial Fist successors. Allow me to pose a few questions to the community here. I'll preface this by saying I'm newish to the lore, though I have put probably 500ish hours into TH-cam lorekeepers like Rho.
He puts emphasis on "if" another primarch is going to even return at all. Is that really a possibility? You have these perfect seeds planted for future content by keeping the majority of them confirmed as alive. So would GW really just not visit them again?
More lore fun question: Which primarch return would have the biggest impact on the empire? I feel like Robutte is the perfect first round pick for running an empire, but who ideally would be #2?

    • @stephenbolding8094
      @stephenbolding8094 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Accepted it… he engineered it. Lorgar is not the father of the “God-Emperor” of the 41st Millennium. Dorn is.
Fact 1: according to the old IA… Rogal Dorn consented to his Legion breaking down because of a “vision” he had in the pain glove.
Fact 2: according to the old IA, Dorn went to his death knowingly because he was one of the last remaining Primarchs and he was starting to be deified… and he felt only one Being was worth worship.. his dead Father.
Fact 3: not only has the Horus Heresy shown that Dorn will kill and hide truth to win, he cloaks it in duty. He believes in this. He is the father of the inquisition.
Dorn fakes his death and goes into hiding to facilitate the rise of the imperial cult. Whilst he runs the show behind the scenes via the inquisition. Praetorian of Terra proves he’s more capable of this kind of shit than even Alpharious was. Before Dorn caved his skull in.
Now Guilliman has come back saying things like “truth and knowledge” and “the emperor isn’t a god”. Undoing everything Dorn set in motion.
So now Dorn has to come back. To be the voice of superstition and hate. Not knowledge and reasoning.

The builder that fathered the stalwart warriors that are Templars, Crimsons, and Fists. The praetorian that might just have enough to sway even the inquisition; as named by Emps himself.
I pity the forces that must stand up to the man that would command them all with such tactical prowess.
I place my hope on the man that cannot lie, the man who will tell you to your face that you suck. The man that expects better from you, and would rather protect than give himself accolades.

Dorn: " No. I did as I was asked leaving only a contingency plan in case I was right about needing Legion size formations to defend the our Father's Imperium.

Vulkan, Dorn, Johnson, and Khan are all possibilities to return.
GW is pacing it brilliantly, however, as we don't want all of these uber characters thrust into the game close together. A slow burn, drip them out one-by-one, and allow a story to be driven forward alongside such a return. The 40k universe is (thankfully) moving centuries ahead after 30 years of doing literally nothing.
