Thanks man! I grew up listening to a lot of classic heavy metal and just trying to sing those songs a lot, but what helped with the grit in my upper register was singing CCR songs. A lot of it is about controlling the compression of your head voice, but it takes a bit of time to get more comfortable with it. I’m sure you can do it. Good luck!
