Oh my Gosh girl me too!!! Thickers are my absolute favorite. Can't have to many THICKERS!
I need to edit the supplies I take to a crop too - I spend way to much time lugging it all in and out! Great tips!
thank you so much. I was wondering how to bring less and you simplified it for me. Great ideas.
My crop host always brings a huge basket filled with current color cardstock and her full set of matching ink pads. I have learned to bring my basic black and white base cardstock and a few sheet of color CS for a certain kit but if I need something else I can just buy a sheet or 2 from her or borrow an ink pad. She also brings a Cricut and die cutting machine for use. It really makes packing and planning for a crop / retreat so easy. I am like you and do not do a very much stamping away from home so this works for me.
I always bring half my craft room to a crop. I always bring more paper & pens than I will use in a lifetime. I am going to challenge myself to only bring what I needs to the next crop. I have an extra large rolling tote. I will add my Cricut to the list. I will definitely be making some “crop packets” of a few sheets, of several colors, of 12x12 paper. You have inspired me. Thank you
Wow you sure are a minimalistic! I inspire to do this. I go to a crop in 15 days. (Not that I’m counting). I really want to start bringing less. I have been bringing everything including the kitchen sink. I am going to try to do more like this. I promising that I can do as little, but I will do better. It will be a 4 day crop, so longer. And I am doing mixed media and not scrapbooking so it’s is hard to cut back. But you really have inspired me to do better.
You got this!! Let your bags and totes determine how much you bring. And stay committed to those bags and totes only. Good luck and enjoy your crop!! 😀
Would love to see your set up at the crop. Lots of great ideas on how to pack light. Many videos you see the scrapbooker says I am packing light and they have at least 6-10 bags with them. I like to take page kits with me. I use to put them in 2gallon ziplock bags. Now I put them in page protectors in an album or two and bring those. I put the embellishments I have pulled into regular old envelopes and slide those down in the page protectors or write on the outside what layout they go to them put them all in a zippered pouch (keeps the page kits in the album from being to thick and lumpy). I also add an Ott light and extension cord as good lighting is often an issue. Like your pop up garbage can. Need to get one of those. Great ideas. Thanks
i have never been to a crop but this video I will be revisiting! This is also helpful for packing craft supplies when you travel too! Thank you so much!
I would love to see the layouts you completed at your crop.
Such a great video Jess! Lots of great ideas on how I can pair down what I bring. Could you do a crop table setup or overview? Sometimes I struggle with getting and staying organized when I'm at a crop.
Oh, what a great video idea! I will work on putting that together 😊
Love how you packed! I’m going to try it out!!! Thanks 🙏
Thank you!
Yes! Over the last couple years I’ve learned a mini album is the best thing to take to a crop instead of layouts - so much easier to pack! For that reason I tend to do layouts at home and my few mini albums at a day crop, rarely crossing over.
Awesome video Jess!!! I am a newer subbie and have been binge watching your videos! I have been loving them all! I have only been to 2 weekend crops, and boy do I wish I would have had this video back then! I did learn that LESS is def more! I love the way you think, and this video made soo much sense to me! Thank you soo much!!! :)
Thank you for your support, so happy to hear this was helpful 😊
I had a rolling cart that I would load up plus a bigger 31 bag. Your packing is much more organized then mine ever was! 😂
Going to a crop in two weeks in Helen , GA. This was so helpful!
Have so much fun!
I loved this! It's been ages since I've been to a crop! I've never taken my own printer, I can see how that would be very helpful. I've been good about concentrating on a particular album/trip, etc., but I can honestly say I've never been THIS efficient. Those 31 containers make a HUGE difference!
I used to take everything too. When I switched to taking less I got more done. :)
Isn’t it amazing how more productive you are when you bring less?! 😀
@@JessicaGraceDesigns Absolutely!
I loved this video! I’ve never been to a crop, but have always wondered how much stuff people bring. Thanks for the insight.
I haven't watched the vid yet, but I have the exact container shown in the thumbnail. I hadn't thought to use it for my supplies. Thx for the idea. Now to watch the vid!
I have that container also and that is the exact reason I bought it 13 years ago.
I, too, am one of those people who brings way too much stuff to a crop! I'm going to one in September and I'm so excited already and it's 2 months away! :)
I'm going to be cardmaking instead of scrapbooking - but I'm going to try to make "packets" like you do for what I am working on so that I don't take so much stuff. I've also already decided that I'm going to make a goal of mainly working on my Christmas cards. Hopefully, that way - I can limit what I take. This video was quite helpful.
Great video, I really enjoyed watching it. Thanks for the tips, I needed them! A big help to me!👏🇦🇺
I really appreciate it. Thanks for the video. I went to a crop 2 weeks ago and was missing a few items but thankfully my crafty friends helped me out. I will use this as a guide for next time.
Such a helpful video. I need to tell myself that two bags are plenty. I think I could pack my Crop In Style bag like you do, but lately I have been using CM border punches a lot and find they are very versatile to bring to crops. But I limit what I can for those to what will fit in my pink canvas Stanley tool tote. You are an inspiration. I am saving this video and will reference it next time I pack for a crop!!
Thank you for this video!! I definitely need your influence in this area!🤩
I also bring my OTT lamps, extension cord and a chair pad.
Great additions!
Yes this video was very helpful!!!
I'm the one every one comes to for the I need!!!! I'd love to be able to pair it all down to even 4 totes! ( None are big like that one though)
I should follow your advise, but I can't!!! I have to have Stickels, Wink of Stella, Two Xyron machines, my Selphy printer, Cricut stuff and a bean can as a stand up tool holder for my workspace. I use a lot of card stock (I take too much). I love patterned paper too. Mat Stacks, photos. All the things!
You do you girl!! If it works for you, don’t change a thing ❤️
Very helpful. Please update us when you come back. Was there something you wish you'd taken? Were there items that you didn't use at all?
Great questions!! This demo was actually just sharing how I pack for a crop. I am hoping to go to some in the fall, if all goes well. I have gone to many in the past and I have never really missed anything that I can recall. And the scrappers at the crop are always willing to share if I think of something in the moment 😊
Any suggestions on how to store cursive word die cuts such as thank you and happy birthday? I have tried to store in plastic box with dividers but they still get tangled up. The die cuts are made by Tim Holtz. Thank you.
Maybe add some adhesive on the back and attach them to a piece of card stock with wax paper over it? This will allow you to store them flat without taking up too much space. 😊
We don't have crops here in Ireland (as far as I know). When you are at a crop would you ever swap supplies with others?
Oh I hope you get to experience one, they are so fun! Yes, we share and swap products all the time 😊
What is the picture printer you use?
Epson Picturemate 400
Awesome, Thank you! Great video!!
