I totally agree. Motion is mostly underrated because it’s not considered an industry standard. Just because the software title is industry standard doesn’t mean it’s the best. It simply means it has been used by the industry for a long time. Aftereffects is an excellent program but motion, in my opinion, is equally as good. I have used them both and I think motion is easier and faster. It has many more features than aftereffects And I flat out refuse to rent software of any kind.
@@eyeofsolomon I'm on the same stance about not renting software it's crazy you have to pay so much money a month. I love software that makes use of a perpetual license of even better in this case. I agree with you that motion is equally good as after effects. It's only lacking in some functionality compared to after effects. The only drawback is that the motion community is very small compared to after effects. I'm glad to see that the community is growing and I hope it will grow bigger than after effects.
Excellent introduction to motion. I have used both motion and aftereffects and I prefer motion. I am a professional 3D animator/illustrator and motion is much easier and has far more advantages than after effects. I realize motion is considered a beginner tool but I totally disagree. I will be using it for large commercial jobs and short and long films. I will be upgrading my computers this year and I’m looking forward to getting back to motion and final cut.
Does motion have a version of rotoscoping I edit music videos and already have fcpx but was considering switching to premiere and after effects just bc of the rotoscoping
Ahhhhh! been looking for this for yonks!! I teach media video production and we have a blanket license for Adobe Suite with AE, but Ive made the best motion graphics ever using this software, never used to hang like AE, and I stretch the software to its limits and capabilities to get what I wanted, couldn't believe it never folded on me!! Need to get it again.
Is there and alternative for windows. I used this at school and it was dope but now I need to make a reveal trailer for my mobile roller coaster game and I’m on windows, please help
I am looking at making cartoons. I was thinking of drawing in Photoshop and animating in After Effects, but do you think Motion will handle the rigging and animation?
Not really, After Effects has more plugins, tutorial, and industry workflows with other softwares. Motion is used to make FCP plugins, and workflow usually center around Final Cut.
You can export what you make in Motion to video and then import to iMovie. My son likes to use effects in his youtube channel. At one point he was creating and editing the whole video in Motion. Now he has moved on to After Effects, Maya, Zbrush and Blender because he wants to work for an effects company.
@@kumoitojp Hi! Where can I see your sons working with motion and iMovie? I would like to check what we can do using motion and iMovie together…I am very amateur and use iMovie for hobbies and using motion looks interesting too

Thanks for giving us a straight to the point, factual video! That seems to be so hard to find on TH-cam these days.

@@smoothsmell-a-vision4841 yes it does have rotoscoping
it just needs expressions and a better 3d environment
you completely lied didnt you....
Love the software.. If you own a Mac system its a no brainer. 50 dollars.. Unbelievable.. many tasks done much much faster than in Ae
Exactly what I needed. Thanks.

Motion is $50 and you can use the same day. You cant do with after affects. Plus they are around $850
I tried importing an EPS file into Motion to no avail. Could anyone help with that?
He mentions it right here at 8:07
How are we not talking about motion being a layer based editor? Arguably the number one reason you’d use it if you use FCP
Can I use motion without Final Cut Pro??
Yes, but have to work on it as a “Motion Project”.
Brilliant. More Apple tutorials PLEASE!

Mastered FCP, I have to master this.
How you making out?
just got it and i agree! Im super familiar with FCPX too
Stay on the grind@@mariefs.

There's a plugin to do this...might not be that easy natively. mPuppet from Motion VFX
the new motion wont work with my computer
do you have any tutorials for those AirPods, Apple tv, etc animations..?
those looked super cool!
i'm pretty sure that was done by apple for an apple event.
@@dylangarcia7732 in After Effects :D
Using animated curves? The ear buds are parented to either end of the curve.
So it’s the equivalent of after effects from adobe?

im not intressted in mac at all, im a total windows dude... but once in a while i think about getting a mac just because of some software solutions...
Totally worth it
I have a question. Were the animations in this video made with motion?
Good question
At the bottom left it says “Source: Apple Event 2019”
Yes
Apple used there software to create there demos on the computers that you see at the store. Motion and final cut
Grazie!!!
Can it be used with iMovie?
Not in the way it's used with FCPX.
Can you do sam kolder transitions with motion ?
i was thinking about buying apple motion, do you recommend it??
yeah its great, especially if you can't afford After effects.
Wow!
I wish this, stuff have the windows version.

I just purchased a bunch of trainings from Ripple Trainings

It’s like everyone tries to explain everything about apple motion and FCP in 15 minutes or less. This is more confusing.
Simple , "Apple motion" wins AE" game over , but too bad I use a wack system and am not an iOS" user rather .
