Great intro for those who don't have experience in Motion! Anyone new to apple motion and final cut, take Jen's course! Her lessons and style of teaching makes the practical skills in these apps stick!
This was so helpful, thanks! You explained exactly that what others don't. I didn't know where to start, but now you made a great introduction with your tutorial. Thank you!
Jenn, thank you so much for all you do with your FCP and Apple Motion tutorials. Because of you I now use BOTH (but am pretty green when it comes to Motion). You have absolutely some of the most easy-to-follow and thorough instructions on this stuff anywhere on YT. I've saved this video to my personal playlists of stuff from you that I dive deeper into when I have the time. You've helped me turn a skill that I've mostly used in my own business for years (doing videos to promote my own speaking and entertainment business) and turned it into a nice additional side income as a freelance video editor and designer for other businesses. I've learned a ton of stuff in the last couple of years, and stick other stuff away to reference on a "need-to-nerd" basis. Can't thank you enough!
Thank you SO much for this introduction! I love incorporating animations into my videos but manually did everything in other animation apps and then it was such a hassle to transfer and import into Final Cut. I’ve had motion for a while now but felt so intimidated and never even opened up the program. Today, I have spent the last few hours using your videos to practice and your easy to follow tutorials are fantastic! I’ve been taking notes and know I’ll be referencing back to your videos as I learn this new program. Keep up the incredible work! I look forward to every single upload as I know you are a vault of valuable information☺️
Thank you for this! As an advanced FCP editor but relatively new to Motion, I'm still finding it hard to get my arms around it, so I'm very glad you're making these videos. Any chance you'd consider a video doing some examples of the audio-reactive options? I'm trying to figure them out, and can't.
Thank you so much! Very good teaching method! It's easy to understand and you can practice on your own and explore apple motion just after finishing this video.
THANK YOU!!! I just happened to see your videos and throughly enjoy your talents and how you demonstrate how to use motion. Just with this video, I am going to try making my own motion titles. Thank you so much and hope you will continue with more exciting how to videos for people like me that are not to knowledgeable in these areas.
I'm just getting back into video editing after a long time away. Is it worth learning Motion if already proficient in After Effects? ie can it scale to do similar levels of complexity (at least as far as motion graphics). thanks. Love your presentation style!
Hello Jenn, at first thanks for the helpful videos. I have a question about the 6:58m sequence transforming the Z plane. When I do this, the cube doesn't rotate. He makes the same movement as before, only from top left to bottom right. Unfortunately I can't find the error. Can you tell me remotely what I'm doing wrong? Greetings Andy Germany
Cool demo: I took a class at my Apple Store on Apple Motion - Not all Apple Stores have a class on this topic. I have a love hate for this program. What other software would you recommend. Gary from Michigan 🚂
QUESTION about this video. At 1:47 you select the preset to 4K - 24fps. But my brand new Motion 5 program does not have that setting. In fact, you have a whole bunch of settings that I don't have. I have not made any previous settings, and from what I read in the Apple Motion support, you need to have an object selected before setting the preset. Then those settings will always show up. Obviously you have done that. But for me not having an object yet in your tutorial, I can't select that 4K - 24fps setting. Should I select the 4K - 24 Ultra HD for now and change it later when I have an object to select? I feel stuck at the beginning of what seems like a good beginner tutorial. I was going to buy your course based on this video. But I can't get further than this. Please help! Thank you.
Jenn, thanks for this - a great overview . I've toyed with the idea of getting Motion, but TBH, was always kind of intimidated by it, but your tutorial made it seem a lot more manageable.
Just love your work! The way you explain things it helps a lot. I follow your videos from a long time can you please make a dedicated segment for all the behaviors in apple motion just the way Jake in Motion did with Effects of After Effects. It would be really helpful to understand behaviors how they work and how to use them to make some great stuff !!!
Is there a way to toggle between titles. For instance if I wanted three different sentences or names to choose from for a particular video. Is there a way to have drop down of that text?
Thank you Jenn for this introduction. I really want to learn this, you know very much about Motion 👏👏👏 But you are talking and showing things quite fast (I am Dutch, speaking English, but not as good and fast as you do...). If you could slow down a little bit, it would be much easier for me (and maybe others too) to follow 😉
Thanks for the tutorials, what do you recommend me if I want to create keynote style backgrounds (solids for BG, aligned text, like bullets for explanations) for my videos, should I do them on motion or FCPX? What's motion for? Is it 3D compatible? Can I add objects from Blender?
thanks for your videos. could you help me if with motion I can make simple 2d animations to animate icons in an app. or would you know if it works well to export to LottieFiles or any other program to help me with this type of animations. greetings from mexico.
@@JennJagerPro I use Final Cut Pro for video editing. After saw your video for the Motion . Then always learn form your channel. Thanks you your great work.
So, you’re speaking really, really fast and rushing through this intro. I’m going to take your classes so I can improve my FCPX skills, and Motion, but this “intro” is really that - please slow down. I know nothing about my Motion app yet, so can you please move at instructor speed? I feel like this video is for intermediate Motion users. Thank you.
Awesome sauce, Jenn! You are such a talented artist and teacher. I've made the decision to add Motion to my toolbox after many years of being too busy and maybe even lazy to invest the time and energy to learn another piece of software. You have inspired me. Muchas gracias!🤟

How do I end my motion title ( like make the motion go out with the same transition it started but in reverse )?
This is the best explanation of Motion I have seen on TH-cam. Clear, concise, and presented by a cheerful, smiling expert!
This is a whole new world for me. Thank you!

at the last update i noticed that all my favourites had disappeared in motion, any ideas how to fix it?
You do such an excellent job with these tutorials. I am looking forward to purchasing your courses. Thank you!
Another great tutorial. Thanks. :)
Lovely walk through. Thank you.
Brilliant! Thanks for such an intuitive video. This is a helpful start for some of us who are just getting into Apple Motion!
Great video! I’ve wanted to make a nice intro graphic for my channel. This will get me going!! Thanks so much.
This was really helpful! Thank you for your tutorial!
Merci de faire le job, en plus avec un joli sourire.

OMG! No-brainer! That is, my decision to buy Apple Motion is now a no-brainer. Thanks for the clear and concise (and convincing) summary.
Oh no… it’s all gone wrong, my screen is nothing like yours from the bounce in bit, my text disappears and something else appears, it’s so different
