@@johnchris384 our church has no affliation to roman Catholic Church but only we have liturgical communion with syriac orthodox Church of antioch. And we are of oriental orthodox faith.
"Syro" is used by roman Catholic affliated churches in kerala example : syro malankara Church and syro malabar Church who consider the roman Catholic pope as their supreme head.. for us our Church head is the successor to St.Thomas. not under any pope. ! Neither are any of the oriental orthodox patriarchs .. they are independent and are direct successors of the apostles of Lord Jesus .
See Indian Orthodox is an Independent Church but outside India It is considered as a part of the Syrian Orthodox church with its theology so others consider Indian Orthodox as part of Syrian Orthodox although its not. Syrian Orthodox have liturgical relation with Catholics that why they referred it as Syro Malankara Orthodox.
Your Church as per the constitution is a part of the Syrian Orthodox church although its not. With exactly similar liturgy and same way of worship. Catholics share relations with Syrian Orthodox so they can be called Syro.I agree Indian orthodox is independent.
