As a child I had 2 zebra finches. 2 zebra finches quickly grew to 68. They were very loud and chirped constantly. They were very easy to train, and they would fly to my hands and perch on my shoulders. When I’d let them all out at once they would take turns flying to me and letting me hold them for a little while. They will always be one of my favorite animals.
Lol i bought 2 a year later had 15.
How can you train them? And make them come to you?
How come they breed that much 😮 ..i ve got plenty of males and females and they tend to die..either devoured by an eagle from the cage 😢😢 and i end up crying and bying another and another..and they lay eggs but never came up to live 😢
My two childhood zebra finches just died in recent months, I got them when I was around 13, I'm 26 now, so I would say they lived a pretty long life. I loved listening to them, their cage was just next to the door, and they would greet me anytime I came inside the house. I will miss those little birdies.

Thx for the tip! My grandmother has two zebra finches that laid an egg and plans on giving me the bird if it hatches and once it gets older. I even got two names for it! Both being after characters from the game What Remains Of Edith Finch. If it hatches and it's female, then it will be named Edith. And if it’s a male, it will be named Henry.

Aww what a cute interesting video I used to keep zebra Finches when I was a kid they are lovely little things and very cute I had a male zebra finch a white female one like the one in this video with the black zorrows and we also had a Bengal finch which was a male we kept them altoghther in the same cage there was no problems they all got on well there names were fudge Skippy and pearl

I'm literally depressed as just saw little babies stopped moving in them nest. I know that it is taking 2 weeks for chicks to grow enough, so nobody disturb them..

I spent hours cleaning my cages after the clutch was old enough. A five pound box of millet went up from about 25 US dollars to 40 US dollars....not cheap for me. I bought fruit and vegetable pellets also.

I read that Zebra finches is the only finch that have a light-dependent magnetic compass similar to migratory birds. Does that also mean the Zebra finch has better senses than other birds like hearing and eyesight?

Im a beginner. TheY r with us since 1 month now. Got a nest for my duo 2 days back, but seems they r scared to get in. They r sitting on the other corner now since then. I got it coz its too cold here in my city. What do I do? Also, pls guide what all should I feed them with? Giving them only seeds as guided by the seller- its zippo bird feed. Help pls. My finch laid an egg 10 days back & we didn’t have any nest so it broke. I want to comfort them now.

Mir bleibt der Stadtpark um die Vögelchen zu betrachten 😉.
Dort gibt es eine grosse Voliere in der sie zusammen mit Nymphensittichen, Zwergwachteln und niedlichen Zwerghühnern leben.😄

I have my male zebra finch for about three years without a companion.. hes not hand raised but he is used to humans and flies on our hair and ligtly pecks our fingers
Mine is the total opposite!
He is about 10, for the first 7 years ate only the seed mix from the shop where I got him; he does not want another finch in his cage (I tried, I had to give the other away); every time I get the hand in the cage he jumps all around in terror -again, about 10 years I have him-; he is too scare to exit from his cage (once he flew out in the garden, I left the cage open in the garden beneath the tree and he flew back in the cage ALL BY HIMSELF)...
