Zebra finches in Australia

This delightful little grass finch of Australia likes the arid regions and here we present this bird in the wild. Aviculturists have bred this bird worldwide and it has played an important role in medical research . Most recently it has been a model animal to assess neuromodulating proteins in the development of song in birds and speech in humans. Filmed in multiple sites including the Barkly Tablelands of NT and the SA Nullabor.
