Did anyone else notice her doing the same sort of "Good job" positive reinforcement for Jacob when he put his arms out and for the sugar gliders when they did what she wanted? I guess there's some overlap between training sugar gliders and small humans.
Thanks again Jessie for another great video. Your enthusiasm is very contagious. I love how you emphasize that animals are individuals and have there own character traits and we must take that into account when dealing with them and their actions, as people tend to group them into behaviors that are good or bad rather than their individual motivations.
I think a lot of people do that before getting to know the animals as individuals. This applies towards humans too. If I don't know a person that well, I can only go off of generalized behavior and stuff. For example, I assume that people generally don't like being insulted. But after getting to know someone I learn what their boundaries are, and throwing around insults for fun can be a bonding activity. Similarly, I hesitate to make contact with an animal that I am not familiar with, unless I get reassurance from that animal's owner or someone similar. It takes time to learn individual personalities of animals, humans included.
Jessi, this is just the sweetest! I love that you included your son in this video and I love your love for the animals. I look forward to your videos every week.
The bachelor trio is super cute and I'm happy they're getting along! I wanted to share my knowledge of the sharp claws you experience! I clip my gliders nails about once a month. I find it easy to clip them during the day with a regular nail clipper meant for people . I just do one glider at a time and what helps me is leaving the glider in the pouch, just gently holding onto the paw, and clipping the nails one by one. Their mouth is always full too, treats make such a difference! I do this around 3 or whenever they're the most sleepy. If they're too fussy, put them back and try again in an hour. Also keep cornstarch nearby in case you accidently clip too far back, however I've only had this happen once in the 5 years I've had them. Be confident and good luck!
Sorry to hear about Gizmo. Had a recent pet death happen to me as well, but Im glad to hear about your success with the integration of the three males together. Also loved the video as always. I love seeing the different animals you guysbhave there, and learning aboit the training process is always interesting. DFTBA!
WOW! Am I the only one who noticed the "Crown Royal" Bag? Those things are used for every thing you can think of up here in Canada and it's cool to see the craftiness extends to the USA and Sugar Glider pouches
Did you not feel uncomfortable that a young mom started her YT talking about social animalia, and the natural solution is de-nadding her bois? This is not how Mother Nature sets about solving the same problem. If she felt a strange adult male somehow presented a territorial threat on moving in next door, should she approach the problem by neutering herself?
So amazing to see the next generation getting involved! It will be fun to watch your kids grow up & interact more & more with the animals! Thanks so much for continuing to share your adventures!
I have three males together. However I believe they’ve been kept together since they were little. I got them from a lady who said she couldn’t take care of them any longer. This video will be much help to get them trained!!
WARNING: Please don't show your kids, I know so many channels that have had their comments taken away because of that and I even know one channel that has blurred out every kid/persons face for more then 10 years (and I still don't know what his family looks like) get his comment section taken away and still not gotten it back and it has majorly effected his channel and views
Yeah gliders pee everywhere all the time. You can’t potty train them at all. Mine are super territorial too. If they hear an unfamiliar voice they crab out and whenever my rats get close to their cage they FLIP out. They almost never leave their cage area on that side of the room and the indoor garden I have next to it. They climb all over it. But never go exploring. And if you pick them up whenever they’re awake they won’t stink because they’ve bathed each other good. But they always stink when you pull them out of the pouch.
Closest thing to wild animals I’ve ever heard suggested as tame. I don’t recommend anyone get them as pets unless they’ve had extensive experience handling them and dealing with wild animals in general.
Hey @AnimalWonders Montana! I had a question, in a few weeks I will get a baby parrot (cockatiel), and I tried to look up as many tutorials I could, but I didn't find much. I watched you're " Parrot's First Day Home " video, but I think it's almost the opposite. So, my question is, what is the first thing do when it gets home? Do I put it in a box? I know that I will have to feed it on a schedule, but will I have to interact with him all the time, or will I need to leave it for some minutes? I hope you will answer! Have a nice day! 🙂🐦
Hi Jacob! Any favorites out of the animals? Do ya get bored with all of them sometimes? (Kid-brain is hard sometimes. We need a lot of different enrichment too!) How bad does it smell to help out?
Hey Jessi. My lovebird bites my hand and the end of perches. I have a strong bond with him, but he just won't step on my hand. I tried luring him but it won't work. Any advice?
Would love to know what Jacob said after watching this video and saw that his mom was putting mealworms on his head😆 What a good sport...glider pee and all👍
How on Earth did you get into all of this and having ALL of these different animals at your place? Are you an animal behaviorist or something?? Also, it must be a very costly undertaking! How do you manage all of the food and care expenses??
It's not about money.... She works a nonprofit. And, iirc, lives with family who are passionate about her work. It's a group effort to keep Animal Wonders going. You don't turn a profit running a rescue nonprofit, and sometimes you don't even break even.
"Sugar glider tree" would be a great thing to put on a resume.
Meghan Ushman, why not sugar glider pee?
It’s great seeing your son getting involved in a video!
Stephanie Summer i didnt jnow she even had a son😂 oops
Prince Ani Ruler of Team Mystic She has two sons and a daughter

TheGrumbleduke Yeah. I’m pretty she admitted in a Scishow talk show that she unconsciously tries to train people
Jacob seems to be an excellent assistant! Very calm and still. :)
bro is boolin and you know it

shimkii, what’s the cornstarch for?
@@jackyzhu9761 the corn starch quickly stops the bleeding in case you accidentally cut too far
Oh. Cornstarch when your sugar glider bleeds from you clipping too far.
Oh awesome! That's too cool. My sister has some sugar gliders herself. She looooves them. I shared this video with her. Hope she enjoys it!
Jacob seemed genuinely happy to make his Mom happy. Well done.

That banana shaped pouch is like a tube of sugar glider toothpaste
Jacob, you were awesome!!! I had a sugar glider for many years. His name was Checkmate. ❤️
What a cute banana pouch! We_ all_ live_ in a yellow banana pouch...
Do people actually get this reference? Probably not unless they’re musicians - or over the age of 65. 😉

Woah woah woah, wait, whered Jacob go? And how did this tree get here? 🌳
Jacob is staring at you with the sugar glider in his head
It’s always interesting watching how your animals react, especially around your son
That's so amazing that you guys were able to introduce all three males. I'm so glad for your success!
I pee all over my clothing during training sessions, too!
Who gives "thumbs down" to a vid like this? Great stuff, love you and your critters. Keep it up.

Just for your information, that is NOT the usual meaning of "pea jacket".
When I was younger we had a pet sugar glider named Gonzo. He was really cute! I miss the little guy. He died of old age as well.
Also... YAY PING PONG! Good progress little buddy!
Loved the video as always, my wife grew up in Moorpark, CA and went to Moorpark College.
Nice to meet you Jacob! Your mom and dad are awesome!!
Jessie, how do you come up with new training and enrichment ideas for your animals? I run out of ideas for my cats so quickly.
Great video, as always! Love the banana pouch :)

Where did you got the banana pouch from? Great video!!
The Scishow logo looks strikingly similar to Snake Discovery's logo
It does?! Only the curliness of the tail for both, but that's it.
Whoever gave this video a dislike, they were watching this upside down and thought it was the like button.

Hi Jacob! Any favorites out of the animals? Do ya get bored with all of them sometimes? (Kid-brain is hard sometimes. We need a lot of different enrichment too!) How bad does it smell to help out?
My sugar glider always sleeping on day, and active on night
Today I learned I can train human children by using hugs as rewards. Haha
And she’s trying to grab gadget that other guy is just chilling on his head

Pinpong is being trained to "stay in"...remove the bed when you let him out.
THEY ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
