I had two sugar gliders as pets when I was like 10 years old. Let me tell you idk how I convinced my parents to get them. They are VERRYYYY high maintenance. They are very cute but if you are looking into having them as pets I personally do not recommend. Unless you educate yourself a whole lot before!

Nah not really,they the easiest maintenance pet ever.if you knew what you doin that is.just make sure you trimmed their sharp needle nails.
I've heard they can become so attached to an owner they can die of lonlieness if the owner goes away for a few days. Is that true in your exp?

@@danielleamos768 make sure you do tons of research!! Get a pair! They are colony animals. They can die of depression. A safe wheel and cage! Go on Facebook and join groups! A LOT of people on TH-cam channels have good information, but groups can offer mentoring. Diet is important, if they don't get the right amount of calcium they can die. (I used to have 14, so I have experience. The baby in my pfp was one of them.)
My buddy had a Sugar Glider when we were 18. They are so sweet and social. and their gliding is the best. The little thing would just glide over and land on us when he was active. such good times :)
I have 6 of them currently, and LOVE them! They take some work to bond with but once they love you, its so so worth it. They're so much fun

Awe we have 4 of them and they are pretty amazing, but we respect that they each have their own personality and we have a whole room set up for them to live and thrive.
Seeing these little guys out in the wild is actually amazing jumping between trees

Yea, I have 3 gliders and they are definitely NOT what the pet industry sells them as. They are one of the animals that no matter how much they are handled and bred they are still wild
I saw sugar gliders when I was a kid at stock shows and always wanted one. I'm an adult now and own three of them ! I got them from a breeder that has experience breeding exotic pets and I did a lot of research before buying, definitely worrying that salesmen will sell them at stock shows to families that have never heard of them or are aware of their unique care.

Miller Wilson looks like some kind of super villain
I owned two female sugar gliders, they are absolutely adorable, but they need a lot of attention and you have to feed them fresh fruits and meal worms or they get fat. I had two little ones only two years old, they live in a 6 foot cage where they can climb. Their bed was a little hammock and a security blanket in it. They like to ball up. When you hold them they like to be held tight, it makes them feel safe. The ones I had were named Riley and Sasha. Riley was sweet and tame, but Sasha was very aggressive. She would make a loud noise called "crabbing" and then bite. Her bites felt like a staple gun- I know what that feels like. But I tamed her after a couple months and she became the sweetest little sugar baby. I use to sleep with them in my bed, it was so cute. But I had to sell them to someone who took care of sugar gliders because mine were keeping me up at night barking like puppies I think because they wanted a mate to make babies with. That was their mating call at night. I wouldn't get any sleep so I eventually sold them after a couple years. Loved them but now they are wth two male sugar gliders Thor and Loki.
PixelFoundry I had then when I was seven I had three of them Simon,Thomas,Alvin.Alvin was the mean one and Simon and Thomas were the nice one I loved when they would climb on your shoulders.
That must have been difficult to do but I think in the end you did the right thing. They got husbands now! haha

I have a sugar glider named Avocado and it took me two years for her to bond to me. She is super nice and definitely recommend them as pets if you are super educated first and have all of the right surprise.

@@airfryer5789 I had 14 at one point, a few colonies. Gliders have personalities, I had some that would glide across the the room, but some of my others preferred small, short jumps and crawls. I had some that were chunky and some thin. I had a 3 year old female that could get out of 3 cages. I had a boy who was lazy and cuddly, he was her brother. He ran on his wheel all the time, he was just chunky I guess.

Yeah my boyfriend has one glider named Gizmo. Gizmo is a white face blonde glider. He is grey with a dark stripe down his back. He is now three years old and he is very happy. We give him a lot of love and attention. He runs on his wheel often and eats a healthy diet. He is very friendly, loves being petted and loves to cuddle in our bathrobe pockets. ❤️
We got Ginger a few months ago. They are great glider friends.
