Should You Get This 2020 Lexus NX 300 F Sport or WAIT for the Redesigned NX?

- For 2020, the Lexus NX remains mostly the same as it has been for the last few years. This 2020 NX 300 F Sport offers some sportier accents and pieces inside and out to differentiate it from the regular Lexus NX 300. Although it's not as sporty as it suggests, it should be a reliable vehicle just as other Lexus SUVs have been. It's not nearly as spacious as one might think due to it's exterior dimensions and sloping roof in the back to cut into cargo space, but for many people it should offer just enough. If you're familiar with higher tech luxury vehicles with more power, this will disappoint. But if you want a premium offering that's still relatively simple, you'll enjoy this Lexus NX 300 F Sport.

I just Leased a 2021 NX and it's been great. Quick, Nimble and big enough to sleep in the back. Here's a little secret for those that hate the Infotainment system; set the cursor speed to SLOW - and it'll be much easier to control.
And I'm left-handed...

Good review....at that price point I would expect the availability of a Panoramic sunroof. Gas mileage is disappointing. I agree with that the interior dash layout is grossly outdated. Sounds like the New Rav 4 Prime might be a good alternative. All the best. Sam
Witsend Cottage keep in mind this car came out in 2014 as a completely new car. It’s still the first generation. The new one coming for the 2021 model year will address all of these issues you are having. The new one coming out will be miles ahead of the rav4 prime

I was thinking of the CX-5 until I noticed the accelerated pedal hinged to the floor. The hinge and floor around this pedal are very prone to rusting as you cannot have a waterproof mat under the pedal as you can with a pedal hinged above. This is especially true if you get any snow, even if you kick off you boots before you bring your feet inside. Any moisture on the soles of your shoes from rain will eventually cause rust. Not much of an issue if you buy new vehicles more often but I tend to keep my vehicles for 10-18 years and that design is a dealbreaker for my situation. Other than that, the CX-5 is beautiful inside and out.
We have a cx5, great car for the money. You can even get turbo and awd if you like.
The new one will at least have the touchscreen infotainment. A more powerful option would be nice.

Just to be clear, this is the Lexus version of the RAV-4, not the other way around, and it's based on the OLD RAV-4, not the new version that just came out.

Lexus seems to be a few years behind its competitors in design. An analog clock? There's definitely a metaphor here somewhere.
Also, when you make direct comparison to another car it would be helpful to see what you're referencing. I had to stop the video and go check out what you meant by newer Lexus models. Also, I noticed you sped up the video when you opened the back hatch. It would have been interesting to see how fast it opens/closes. It looked like the hatch was painfully slow to open which might have been why you sped it up.
Great video though. You cover the important areas and it feels like I have a solid understanding of this model which I can use if I were to test drive one. Also, I like that you weren't afraid to knock Lexus for its lack of premium feel compared to non luxury brands. It's this directness that I value most in car videos. Without it I may as well not bother with TH-cam and test drive everything myself. I hope you don't feel pressured by these dealerships to be a shill for their brand and avoid giving your honest opinion.

To be honest it’s a little scary saying something negative about a vehicle because I’m still one if the “little guys” and it’s not easy for me to get vehicles but so far nobody has questioned me, except Volkswagen wanted to know about a rattle I complained about and they fixed it 🤷🏻♂️ which was cool.

I don’t agree with you about the Mazda CX-5. I found the CX-5 much louder than the Lexus NX Sport in regards to road noise.
Wait for 2021 model. The instrument cluster is so dated.

I think I'll wait for the new design. I'm disappointed that the NX with F Sport package lacks the LFA-inspired gauge cluster (like in the IS models) or the newer digital cluster in the (LS models). Also, those daytime lights remind me of Nike logo.
