Let’s go through 5 major categories we can group social media. Pick one category or mix them - it’s your choice.
The first one is “Social Networks” - these apps offer new and creative possibilities to connect with people.
The second category is “Media Sharing Networks”. Over time such networks have evolved into full-fledged social media platforms that allow people to upload their media files, share written content, comment posts, and even help post the content on other social media sites.
The third category is “Social Media Blogs”. It includes platforms like TH-cam, Twitter and Pinterest. These apps offer all the necessary tools to help in getting content online.
The fourth category is “Community and Discussion Forums”
On these websites, users share views and information on various topics such as Reddit and Quora.
The fifth and the last category is “Consumer Reviews Networks”. They allow customers to read online reviews before purchasing a product. Business review apps help to get new leads above all.

Hi, wich apps you can use for creating a social media?
you can search for "next.js" please !
first you propably need to learn :
*learn html
*then css
*then javascript (JS) in a runtime like nodejs or bun
*then you need to pick up a frontend framework or you can use a fullstack framework without the need to use a backend framework
the most common frontend framework is : "react js"
but if you want a fullstack you need to learn the basics of "react.js" and complete learning the fullstack framework because its based on react like : "nextjs", "remixjs"
and you can choose another fullstack framework without the need to learn react you can choose as an example SveltKit.
* "nextjs" is a complete react fullstack framework that makes react can be for production
then learn "tailwind css" for styling instead of regular css (but css is required for it),
and now you can add anything else you want to make the app more user freindly and good
* and you can now pick up a database for the data in the app like users, videos and photos
examples:
sql databases:
postegresql,mysql,mariadb,sqlite,sqlserver
nosql database:
mongodb,redis
_then you need to build your project to make it available for production
_then you need to deploy it in a hosting

Okey, in code this is an opinion. I will learn JavaScript and node JS that is JavaScript in backend, then basic HTML (is not so important, you do not know something then just Google it), then I will learn react and the foundations of CSS, after that I will learn bootstrap that is a css framework that is going to be "easier" than CSS.
With that you know how to develop a front end or design, for backend or data I will recommend to learn node JS in your path of knowledge is going to learn the things that you need as web sockets for chats for example.
With that you should have a functional web application and then learn react native that is react but for mobile. Of course if you want more complexity you have to learn more things that you are going to know in your path, good luck

How do you allow people to make money off it and how do you make it profitable for yourself too?
They make money by ads
Depends on your concept. But you can always use a paypal API. Or you can build an infrastructure for ads, where on-load it generates a pop-up and a timer like most apps. Then just track how many times it redirected users to the link daily and send that data to a table within an invoice. And charge for ad space. There's all kinds of ways.
