Wonderful for a top slipper edge I am making for a Christmas gift. For myself I will wrap it around an empty cone from yarn for a CHRISTMAS tree, giving a length of branches :-) Also the idea of a tool to open latches of the needles made of a wooden knitting needle came to me because I could use something as yours. Cool tool!

You'll do fine. Just remember that anything worth knowing requires practice so allow yourself to make some mistakes - and to learn from them! My worst mistakes were my very best teachers.

So true! I have to tell myself, constantly, that every mistake is a lesson in itself. I have LOTS of lessons, but enjoy them at the same time. :)

Is there anyway to do this without a garter bar? Could I knit into waste and then rehang and undo rows until main yarn?
You can always "scrap off" with waste and rehang. Slower, but just as effective.

Most machines come with basic tools: 1//2, 1/3 and 2/3 transfer tools. Not sure where you are to recommend a dealer though.
