Super Happy that I just found your channel! You're answering questions i didn't even know how to ask and in a way that's super easy and enjoyable to follow! Great stuff
6 week beginner here Mike and learnt soo much in that time thanks to you man! Thank you so much! I’m going to buy you a coffee (make that several) on pay day by way of thanks. I’m learning on a Roland TD-07KV and I’m wondering how I might go about emulating your sample sounds as they sound wicked!? I can obviously you tube how to transfer/set up specific to that model, but do you have any advice on what preset I should use with subsequent refinement? Cheers man, much appreciated! Paddy : )

Thanks for watching! That's a Roland VH10 hi-hat right? No reason it should spin around if fitted correctly. Watch out for... The hi hat clutch being correctly fitted to the VH10 pad and suitably tightened up. The clutch being fastened to your hi-hat stand rod tightly enough. The hi-hat stand's rod being a) in its thread and b) suitably tightened up (turned clockwise/to the right fully). Use a pair of pliers to grip the rod and tighten it fully if needed. When the VH10 is on the hi-hat stand, the maker's name (Roland) should be on the far side (the side you don't hit) and orientated so you can read it. Cheers! Hope that helps.

Just got a new e kit, VAD 307 to be exact. Any tips on stopping the hi hat from spinning around and around so much ?

Excellently played & demonstrated.
I think I'll stay away from jazz for now.
