  • Order "Live At Knebworth '76": mercury-studios.lnk.to/Lynyrd...
On August 21, 1976, Lynyrd Skynyrd took the stage at Knebworth as part of a daylong festival which also included Todd Rundgren’s Utopia, 10cc and The Rolling Stones. The show has gone down in Lynyrd Skynyrd history as one of the band’s greatest performances. The 1976 Knebworth show features Ronnie Van Zant’s iconic vocals and their famed triple guitar attack of Gary Rossington, Allen Collins and Steve Gaines in front of a crowd estimated between 150,000 and 200,000. Their entire performance from that day is here for you to witness the classic Lynyrd Skynyrd in all its glory with cleaned up visuals and remixed audio, available on DVD+CD, Blu-ray+CD and DVD+2LP.

Cassie was amazingly beautiful. It was such a cool camera perspective to see her grooving while her brother was tearing it up on his strat. It must have been so nice for her to have her brother, and vice versa for Steve. What an awful tragedy.

This is the textbook performance by a rock band. Nobody can touch this. It should be studied hard by anyone who aspires to be a bandmate. A huge part of the icing on the cake is The Honkettes, greatest backing vocals- EVER!!!😊

I remember as a teen in Orlando, we would drive carloads of people into an orange Grove and party into the morning. I had an old tank, a '66 Rambler. Judy, I agree especially with the short time they were here! Little bands like the Rolling Stones ,The Who ,Charlie Daniels Band all made mistakes by letting Ole Skynyrd go on first and they lived to regret it ! I just wish on that tragic evening Ronnie would have listened to people around him instead of the management company! Yes I'd put this band up there on a pedestal! Just look at there history going back to the Hell House ,Alan ,Gary and Steve three guitarist that were as good as any ! They had projects with Merle Haggard and Ronnie had spoken with, yes Neil Young about upcoming albums! Again only one thing could slow them down and it did on that tragic evening that became dark of night !

My favorite band ever, Ed King was great guitar player but Steve Gaines was phenomenal guitar player and he had an amazing voice, ain't no good life, wow.
I still miss these guys so much.
I know they lived hard & made mistakes but man it was like they were cursed. Poor Allen lost Ronnie then just a few yrs later he loses his high school sweetheart & their child.
He lived through the crash to them lose his family. So tragic.
I never knew till resently that Leon was the most severly injured, his heart stopped twice in OR. Not sure what year but he was on bus sleeping & Ed found him with his throat slashed, he almost died, Ed said in interview, he always thought Leon's wife did it & she tried to blame Ed.
Bob Burns had tragic life as well, all of them. Now Gary only original left.
I often wonder what would have happpened if they had made it to Baton Rouge safely.
Heard several interviews they were trying to get off the booze & drugs, then the crash happened, so ironic. Ten frickin min left in the flight. Just so much tragedy. Ronnie told multiple people he wouldn't live to see 30, he even told his dad, he was 3 like mos shy of 30. It's crazy.
Bless the Lord, we gave all these videos and the music to keep their memory alive forever.
I helieve in a 100 yrs people will still be rockin out to their sings, it's like a treasure that gets past from one generation to the next.
There is a new generation of young kids just discovering them.

I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd at Rich stadium in Buffalo, I think it was this same tour, 1976? It was one of the Summerfest at the stadium shows and the headliner was Blue Oyster Cult who was amazing. One of my favorite memories from that show is the Honkettes with their dresses blowing in the breeze in the background, singing the backup vocals and this video captures that memory perfectly!
