Janine Jansen is an extremely gifted musician. I have long loved the way she plays, always passionate, always plays with her heart, always focused like a laser, always always in service of the music. She is a great brilliant violinist, and artist. I love her.
This is an incredible performance, the synergy between Janine, Gergiev, and the orchestra is breathtaking and truly exceptional, particularly the first movement. I can watch it over and over again and never be bored.
i was just browsing youtube searching for something to watch when the preview of this video just hit me right in the guts, absolutely beautiful and sentient interpretation of both the orchestra and soloist, i love it when a recording just leaves me unable to to anything for the sake of not possibly missing out on the music
I've listening all her performs on Brahms Concerto and I get with this one for sure! Don't know why there are just a few visitors, comments and likes!!!
Sick, twisted, weird, blissfully evil, witchy, dark, intellectual, joyous, rigid, flamboyant, angry, serious, wild, gloriously happy, and yet somehow very organized and nerdy, straightforward, bookish, yet crazy. Janine is the perfect person to understand Brahms and really play his total personality. Janine is a mad scientist.
The opening of this concerto always reminds me of the D-Day landings. Why? Because I was reading a book about D-Day when I first heard it. That was way back in 1968. Still one of my favorite concertos. Great playing by Janine Jansen.
The current despot in Iran was a lover of fine poetry in his youth and thus was involved with many intellectuals of Iran. When the Mullataria got power in Iran, on one occasion, he talked to Mehdi Akhavan Sales, a well-known Iranian poet, and told him that he should support the new regime. Akhavan in response said: We, the artists are supposed to be against the political power (despotism), not a supporter of it!
Thank you Janine

Truly a sweet mind virtuoso to perform her wonderful grasp of Brahms.
The greatest cadenza I ever heard
Only15k views with such magnificent performance!? Must be Gergiev's tie to Putin.
She is playing every note
with her feeling and life.
l think of Du Pre, they are similar.
Interesting thought! Jansen is just technically more “clean“ without loosing the same energy and passion, that Du Pre had.
Excente violinista ,había escuchado solo a Joshua Bell ,la agregaré a mi lista
Great rendition!
Jansen-gergiev che binomio !!!
A stunning performance. Sheer brilliance!!!
휴일 아침 차분한 마음을 달래어 주는 좋은 연주 감사합니다.^^
I love you Janine, I love you. I love you as much as I love Brahms!
