Oh this is pretty cool. I actually designed the poster/banner for "The Fallen" and you are right, it was a school project. I was part of a Graphic Design program and we teamed up with a group of people in the Game Dev program, and made a poster for their game (in this case, The Fallen)
Thank you for playing it, I thought they did an awesome job and was definitely the best of all the game projects that year from what I saw.

After...essentially doing that, here's what I think Dark Souls is: a game where you smack stuff with a sword, but that sword is made of cardboard and your armor is just a hologram. If you can somehow get past the smaller enemies, you get to fight the bosses...which will kill you if you go too far left. Also death. Many much death. I am unsure if the game follows any sort of story.

Specially when talking about something that will get done, and something that is done, they are almost always different, so we kind of expect that from other languages in the begning.

Like, on PS1, most games didn't let you open doors or had you use a button or lever like in Tomb Raider, Doom clones had automatic doors or colored keys, but then locked-from-one-side door shenanigans became so popular to the point Medal of Honor stressed "you won't need to open doors in this game.")))
Eldest Souls sounds like a frustrated fan who got fed up of waiting for Elden Ring news and decided to make a game himself.
Or also a fan of Elder Scrolls who couldn't come up with a clever title.

As someone who initially bought Devil Slayer Raksasi when it was in early access and now that the game has been fully released, it's honestly a really good game! There's a lot of content in its roguelite style and the devs have constantly added in new areas, weapons, items, and bosses to keep every run feeling fresh. Truth be told, I still haven't properly beaten it. The gameplay style definitely feels more like Binding of Isaac than a souls game and I guess i'm just not used to it lol.

Before dark souls we used to say demon souls was a harder ocarina of time without a hookshot xd
Batman: Return of the Joker for Gameboy is a great example as well.
While it probably doesn’t need both, mastery of the grappling hook allows you to play the game a bit differently, much like flying over entire levels in Super Mario World.
And of course, wall jumps are always cool; gives the otherwise short game a bit of a NES Batman vibe. Definitely worth checking out for Batman side scrolling fans.

The early Xuan Yuan sword games were actually pixelated turn based rpgs that were story heavy and slowly turned more into a third person RPG to appeal to wider audiences. Those were so fun. And the frog is a joke. There’s a frog like that in some of the games. Hit hard have a lot of health but excellent for grinding exp. A lot of the bosses in XYS 7 are basically bosses from earlier turn based games rebuilt. Such as the gearbeast

The Fallen looks like it's a really good game demo like if the mechanics and design of it were re-made and expanded upon by a professional studio it really would be a really good game

I'd fricken love to see you do Elderborn. It's first person soulslike combat with an apocalyptic sci-fi setting and heavy metal sound track. Also you can chuck the severed heads of your slain enemies at other enemies.

It might be a bit of a well known game, but you should have a look at Outward. It's a souls-like open world game from Deep Silver with a ton of jank, but I think it was the most fun I've ever had with split-screen co-op in a long time.
6:34 there was this really good mobile souls like I played like 6 years ago but I can't remember the name of it, I remember it was like western meets sci-fi monster hunter with these sort of mutant type creatures, it had a whole story line to it too, and the game even had an endless arena mode,and you had a gun in the game but also a sword or some type of melee like that, I cant for the life of me remember what it was but I absolutely loved playing it

I actually really enjoy Sinner sacrifice for redemption. Once you finish the game you can unlock new weapons and the trophies involve killing the bosses with specific requirements. Controls are tight too!
