    LOVE the square neckline tee! Square necklines are my jam - somehow really flattering on my curvy figure. Thank you for mentioning this tee design - I had never even heard of this designer!

    Lace tee? Yes please! I am so glad you suggested that Love Notions pattern for the lace tee. I Will do that for sure, lace
    is my total thing! I had an idea for the non-hem in addition to what you were going with. How about a galloon or scalloped edge, from a double border lace? You would have enough for the sleeve edges with a double cut if it. Some of them even have a bit of stretch, not necessary with your pattern choice, but still nice to have options. That is definitely what I’ll do. I just got a bunch of lace in new colors intending to do a couple of dresses with a nude under dress. I would love that anthro tee look with a nude body shaping cami. I think I’m going to make one right now. Yay!!

    These are some fun looks! i like every one of the looks. I love the thought of wearing a shirtdress as a topper. I don’t wear dresses often, but I wear toppers a lot! My favorite look is probably the white top (probably because of the square neckline) and gathered skirt. It’s so beautiful! I’ve worn one of my wraps already this spring. It was surprisingly effective in keeping me warm!Also, the color blocked idea with analogous colors is amazing. Emily Hallman just made a very similar look. Thank you for the inspiration!!!!
    By the way, I don’t find you talk about your colors annoying. I like the reminders and I like to see how you adjust your mindset and habits. Color on!!!!

    I agree your Tee and the colours in it suit you so perfectly! Thank you for another great video - I always love these when you take us through "street style" and what patterns are out there to recreate the look. I have to put in a plug here (no not sponsored at all!) for Cashmerette - the Montrose is perfect for the lace, top, tee underneath and she has a couple of shirt dress type patterns that are fabulous too. Her patterns always fit me SO perfectly :)

    Great style picks. Having lived thru the 60s, I avoid anything mini, midi, maxi or flounced! Having said that, all these are adaptable to whatever one's style is. I must be in your colour palette (altho grey haired now!) as I love your colour choices.

    I see some really beautiful fabric behind you in your colors!! Those Pietra (?) pants, if I am referencing the right one, would look great with the top you are wearing today. You know, I emailed the French woman about the Wanton top and she just never got back to me. It's up on the site for ordering, it said to email her for shipping to the U.S., but I've heard nothing. Any ideas? I really liked the patterns you picked out for Spring and Summer. I already have picked out some really flowy skirts and tops to sew up with my linen stash, which has become the predominant fabric I have. I have already made silk slips to go with them, a tank, a half slip and a full slip so I am covered in that department. Thanks so much for sharing these. Can't wait to see them made up!

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right about the Pietra pants with the Wanted Top! The pattern is, however, a PDF only pattern so you can just order it off her site. The instructions are all in French, but hopefully the sew along i did would help!

      To sew knits? Yes, you can just a regular sewing machine. You will want to use a stretch or ball point needle and then sew with a stretch stitch (looks like a lightening bolt on the stitch selector) or a narrow zig zag (like a 1 width and 2.5 length).

Which reminds me: I have a lovely pattern of theirs, the Georgia peplum, but I'm stumped on how to do an FBA on it because of all the interesting seams on the front...
