If you don’t like the touch pad, it can be disabled in Settings.

the only reason i would buy it is that you supposedly can access extras of purchased apple movies from it. Not possible via smart tv apple tv app

I got tired of my slow LG smart TV software and bought the 128GB Apple TV device. Waiting anxiously. I think I might miss the motion sensor cursor, though.

Nah, you won’t, use Siri instead. I hated my LG OS too and upgraded to  tv 4k a little more than a year ago. Best device I own. No regrets.

Nope. The user experience on the Apple TV 4K is smooth and clean. No ads too. Even Siri is useful.
