What light would you recommend for a 20 gallon tank? I was told to get the Fluval Marine Spectrum 3.0 Bluetooth LED Strip Light, 32 Watts but I was wondering if you know of any cheaper lights

      Hi Natalie.
I'm not a big fan of the Fluval lights for saltwater. They just do not pack the punch, color, and controllability that a lot of their competitors do. They work well for freshwater, but there are far better options available. A good light will be the best investment you can make in your aquarium.
I have a blog article that will really help you find the perfect light for your tank and budget. You can find it here:

If you want any inspiration of what you can create in a small aquarium with a good light like the AI Prime 16HD, I highly recommend you have a look the Fluval Evo Nano Reef that has been grown by Fragbox Corals in Toronto, Canada. It is truly stunning:

I hope you find these links helpful.

The Beginners Reef I looked into the Aquamaxx Prism but it said that the light isn’t good for clams, do you think that a Squamosa clam would be okay since it doesn’t require high intensity light?

nataliex909 it will all depend on the depth of your 20 gallon tank. Squamosa clams are a lower light clam and they prefer to sit in the sandbed.
If you are wanting clams I would suggest you invest abit more in your light and buy it once rather than buy a cheaper light then find out it does not have the PAR to support a clam long term.

    Feather dusters aren't corals.
