    I always wondered about them!!!! For the most part it all goes on how you use it!!!! I can get good results off pull through sharpeners as well!!!! You have to know how to finesse it slow soft easy strokes and you’ll be fine!!!! Thanks so much are your books open I’d love to have you make me a killer piece!!!!! Thanks so much😊

    If you don't mind the secondary bevel, they work. Especially for those that don't know what sharp really means.

    • @wyatthines153
      @wyatthines153  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol true i did get it pretty sharp but its also a realy rough edge it aint much better then the pull thru sharpeners

    William collins made a bunch of those type sharpeners. He heat-treated them to a hard Rockwell. He didn't use carbide.

      You can actually get chromium harder than the carbide so i have no doubt his worked just as good

    I have one and they are good to throw in a pack, minimal room and space taken up but you can bring an edge back to life. Now days I carry a small ceramic rod instead.

    Take your sharpest knife and listen to the sound it makes going thru paper vs that one and if you can hear the difference.

    • @wyatthines153
      @wyatthines153  ปีที่แล้ว

      O ya theres a difference the knives i do on the arkansas stones are way smoother and more even this carbide sharpener puts a pretty rough edge on em
