I have owned one of these since they were displaying them up in Northern Ontario back about 9-10 years ago. As a man I usually have a decent pocket knife in my pocket. This product I've kept with me for at least 9 years now in my other pocket, as it works AMAZING! You can even do chain saw edges on the fly. Very impressive. I would highly recommend this product. Its replaced my 6 sharpening stone kit, as my go too tool to get things razor sharp.
Blade of scissors, and carbide edge opposite of each other. Drag the ss down the cutting edge of the scissors. If they're older, you can apply more pressure, then go lighter as you go.
I've owned multiple of these. I've tried using it in different ways. No matter how I use it, it doesn't work. News flash! If your knife can't shave hairs off your arm, then it's not sharp. If it can't even slice paper, slowly and cleanly, it's definitely not sharp. I'm an experienced and proficient cutler who can sharpen a knife, even a cheap one, to a very sharp edge. If I can't get a knife properly sharpened with this thing, nobody can. I'm just trying to save people wasted time and money here. If you can't sharpen free-hand, just buy an adjustable, controlled angle sharpening system, or take the time to learn to sharpen on a stone.
