Ha! Told ya. HAL-CA (Haruka Noma - lead guitar) is 17 now. She must have been 15 when they did that video. The other two members are brothers. MIYU (just turned 18) on bass and MIO (20) on drums. I caught them at a small club in Los Angeles in March last year on their way back to Japan after they played a bunch of gigs at and around SXSW. Yes, HAL-CA is a force of nature. They don't have a singer, but they have done a few collaborations with metal/hard rock singers in the past.
Once upon a time there was a girl in Japan (no fairy tale), who started to play drums in second grade. After a concert of the band Loudness, she decided to learn the guitar and Akira Takasaki became one of her role models. On her 10th birthday, one of the presents was a guitar. (Not even) two years later, she got introduced to the drummer and the bassist at a talent competition. In the beginning, they named the band Hal-ca (the guitarist's stage name), later turned into ASTERISM. And now, at the age of 17, the girl became a young woman, her name is HARUKA NOMA. PS: I'ts a seven-string bass.
They have two EPs and one full album, "Ignition". They do a mix of original songs and covers. Bootsy Collins, former bassist of the James Brown band, helped produce their album. He got Buckethead to play on two songs on the album. They are primarily instrumental but they do use guest vocalists especially on the the covers. They got to perform at SXSW in Austin and did a short mini tour in Texas and in LA. Where they finally got meet Bootsy in the flesh. There is a Yamaha Music School video about them in school rocking away like that in their school uniforms.
Glad to see you guys finally got to them! I requested them before the Band Maid in Dallas gig :-) They are a fantastic young band. Check out Blaze live - You'll dig it. th-cam.com/video/51Pxkp8lGAs/w-d-xo.html
HaL-Ca is a deadly shredder ,a female version of the late Dimebag of PANTERA , Bucket Head played a couple of songs with them ,she wants to have a battle with him one day , check a song called Disperse , they played at OSAKA , she very good .🎸🎸🎸
Dropped into these last summer after running through Aldious, lovebites and band-maid. Sick live band. That bassist is pretty damn good. Never seen one sweeping the strings.
Oh, and here is Haruka's Twitter account. She posts a lot of videos of her just noodling around on the guitar. She's really nice, and occasionally replies in English if you comment in English. twitter.com/KURUMETAL4649
At last you've discovered Asterism 👍. Give 'em 4-5 more yrs and they surely will sweep the lane so to speak. Check out their tune Dawn. That's a musically masterpiece front to back, and the way round.
Asterism where teenagers in this, iirc the oldest was 17. Unlucky Morpheus Cadaver/Revadac (the score reverses half way thru, the second half is the first played backwards, it's a masterpiece.)
I don't know a lot about the band but I know they have been around since they were in early middle school and I think now they're 17 18 19 somewhere around that age range and they do mostly instrumental but sometimes they'll have a guest vocal
Interesting bit of info. Haruka hasn't hit 5'0" yet. (At least, that's what whoever runs their facebook page told me when I commented on how tiny she was in a photo with some other musicians.) Haruka has more rocker-tude in her tiny little body than dudes who have been performing arenas for 30+ years. And, as for a singer to collab with them, I once commented on their facebook page that they should do a collab with Fuki (Unlucky Morpheus, Fuki Commune, Doll$Boxx, etc.), and whoever runs the page gave the comment a like. Fuki might be a little too symphonic for their style, though. Maybe someone with a grittier, more rock voice. Maybe Hyde? (Though, Hyde is one of the just plain most huge artists in Japan, so that's reaching for the stars). Seriously, you should consider reacting to Hyde. Hey, hope you guys are doing OK! Just wanted to pass along a link of Paulina from the Warning, doing a cover of Radiohead's 'Creep'!😁 She just uploaded it last night and it's already got 18K+ views.😮 Check it out... th-cam.com/video/A6Y4XpBxjU0/w-d-xo.html Stay healthy y'all!!😁👍 🤘😎🤘
To get an idea what Asterism with a vocalist would sound like, here's a vid (unfortunately, mixing not very good) th-cam.com/video/3thAXV4laAA/w-d-xo.html

So is that c in Hal-Ca soft like s or hard like k? Japanese doesn't have a 'c', so I'm super uncertain. Also, do you know what it means?
Write Hal-ca, speak Hal-ka. I guess, it's a short or familiar form of Haruka.
@@risingmoon3387 That would make sense, thank you!

Sorry late to the party 😬 Asterism is a talented instrumental young band from Japan. I love their JAMS🤘🔥🎸
Asterism is amazing.
"If you can pick a lead to sing who would it be?" Now that they've signed with Amuse, I want Moametal to do a solo album with them.
At last you've discovered Asterism 👍.

It has usually been Maki Oyama who sings with them when they do shows together. They do a killer version of "Guerilla Radio'.
Very talented musicians
Yes Sir 👍

They sound like 5 - it's not just the camera work. Hal-Ca is badass - not only was she only 15 going on 16 in this vid, but she's about 4'8" tall.
I could tell she was tiny! Amazing guitarist though, dang!
@@somejoshthing Miku Kobato would tower over her.
@@jon87583 😂😂😂 That is seriously saying something!!! lol
Mayu's cleans from nemophila would be boss

Really good, they need an epic vocalist!
FINALLY!
@Aaron T Rokz good job: I bugged these guys and Statik to check out Asterism back around Sept. 2019!!!

Got it btw
Eye/Marys blood/ singer.
To me it looks like a 7 string bass guitar.
So I guess you are not gonna do Babymetal BxMxC anytime soon
