The concept of global leadership must undergo a complete transformation. We need a new global collective vision. We need collective security founded on justice. Therefore, a new democratic global governance is essential. Without it, chaos will accelerate. Why no one talks about these issues?
Ian always provides solid balanced commentary. It does feel however that the world is in some sort of cold war environment given everything unfolding out there though.
I disagree with Ian Bremmer in some areas, but he's a good speaker and I share his preference for global cooperation over war. I found it puzzling that like many mainstream journalists and speakers lately, IAN avoided mentioning BRICS, which is a growing global development central to his topic. Is it because the growth of BRICS brings his perception of our western dominated 'global world order' into question?
Is BRICS even really a thing though? The Brazilians are western hemisphere centric. The Russians are international pariahs. The Indians are quasi-isolationists. The Chinese are having major economic problems, and South Africa is a basket case. There's no alliance there economic or otherwise. They all have seperate interests, that some times clash violently like with the Chinese and the Indians who are the two most powerful members since the Russians invaded Ukraine.
