China does not ask anyone, it only gives orders. Same with Xi Jinping, he only gives orders. Chinese people are there to follow orders and not to ask or question. Chinese students tried with Tainnamen massacre and Hong Kong protest. Don’t ask, don’t question, don’t use your brain. Learn to show loyalty to the party and Xi Jinping.

This entire speech frames China as a challenge. Perhaps they should see beyond their hubris and ideology (or discrimination) and see China as an opportunity. Why seek a fight simply because you “may” lose your top dog status?

Today, in PPP terms, the Chinese economy is 1.25 times larger than that of America. China was the largest economy in the world until 1820. America is the Joney come lately.
A recent PEW (American) survey showed that 88 % of Chinese are happy with their political system and see a better future for their children, whereas only 28 % of Americans felt the same way. Today, the Chinese are enjoying the best period in their 4000-year history.

    • @aftdel

They should thank the West for inventing all the things they build today. They did not have the highest GDP per capita in the world before 1820 and in fact were well behind the West for most of the last 2000 years.

It is only one country has the right to be better off, which is the USA. Otherwise you are not a responsible stakeholder. You are bad.

to understand any country is to have some appreciation of it's recent history and china is no exception. the speaker in this video gives zero context in which china had to deal with western imperialism over the last 200 years or it's role in global trade of the last 2500 years. this speaker mentions jeffrey sachs. if you want a broad and more contextualize understanding of today's china, sachs, will give you that

I would say his understanding of America is also somewhat illusive.
The US was created upon European immigration and colonization, African slave trade, genocide of aboriginal people, and conquest and forced annexation of foreign territories.
Rampant racism against minorities, widespread drug abuse, frequent gun violence, cruel exploitation of new immigrants as cheap labor, ridiculous gap between rich and poor, looting of global wealth through addictive money printing, economic and military coercion of "allies and foes" around the world, bombing and killing of millions of civilians in foreign lands under the cover of "human rights, democracy and liberty", are some of the key features of American led so called "rule based international order".
The American tyranny of dictatorship on international order based on lie fabrication, economic coercion and military bullying will soon come to a slow end, following the outcry from the world against the atrocities happening in Gaza. A truely open, free and democratic international order based on UN Charter will be restored for all of humankind, which is exactly what the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative are looking for.

One has to realize that China has invest heavily in Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Asia, and don't forget about Eurasia! There's over 151 countries are members of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative! Chinese government has the vision and long term goal knowing someday US will becoming an insignificant country in terms of trade since US really does not make anything! Chinese investment in developing countries will raise those countries' standard of living and thus will trade more with China! China graduates ten times more engineers than the US, nine out of ten PhD in the US university are foreigner students!

The current developments in the US-Canada-India triad relationship regarding the Khalistani issue can potentially blow up and throw a spanner in bringing India into the west plus camp. The Canadians have blamed the Indian home minister as directly involved in the killing/attempted killing. No wonder the Indians and Chinese have recently started a tentative detente on the border fracas since 2020.

Pension / social security in USA is going bankrupt. China has cheap healthcare. People easily gets the care they need. Family value is strong. Saving is strong. US is all about credit card debt. Divided country w polarizing news here. No leadership. Internal collapsing here is reality. China just has to march along at 5% growth. China is leading in EV, solar, and green energy. It is strategic in its investment and planning. Fix thy internal problems and get stronger… looking to weaken others is what USA does and china won’t be weaken… people are smart, work hard and have ethics

Fareed Zakaria about China not been a responsible international stakeholder? His version about been a responsible international stakeholder is just "obey" US led international order is rubbish. US was the sole super power in the world for the past 35 years and as a matter of fact US followed no rule. What rule did US follow 1)when US unilaterally invaded Iraq, 2)when US supported Eqypt Military coup de tat and jaling of democratically elected President Mohd Morsi. 3) When US CIA and Embassy ochestrated the colour revolution in Ukraine, which eventually triggered the Crimea crisis and subsequent Ukriane war. 4)When US imposed unilitaeral sanctions against countries like Venezuela, Iran and other countries. 5)When US continued to arm Israel genocide in Gaza and West Bank!
The world, my self included, used to look upon US as the custodian of international peace. On the contrary, US had failed and failed miserably to date!.
