That's not a real Groudon. It's a fake copy of Groudon created by a wish, so it's not the right size. Groudon also grows by 50% when performing Primal Reversion, and that's probably not how big it CAN become if it gathers enough energy, as it is still gathering more energy if in the wild, and instantly undergoes Primal Reversion if it belongs to a trainer, so it isn't at full power and, presumably, scale.

Once again, Dunsparce's and Furret's "height" are their lengths. Wasn't it like Dratini or Dragonair last time or something?

If you move the decimal of 73.4 pounds of dugtrio one to the left it will weigh 7.34 pounds maybe that's what happened. they misplaced the decimal.

Still, the fact that the heaviest Pokemon in the series is only 3.5m long really does produce some questions.
One question being how heavy is it in the anime if at 11 feet tall it weighs around 2000 pounds o-0
+Jonathan Backo I think the heavies Pokémon is actually either Giratina or Metagross. But if I'm correct, Groudon is 3rd place.
+MegaShadowblast Groudon (2,094.4 lbs normal form and even heavier in Mega form) is heavier than both Metagross (2078.7 lbs in Mega form and MUCH less in normal form) and Giratina (1653.5 lbs in Altered Forme and less in Origin Forme).

I thought about it and Mega Alakazam's height reduction actually makes sense.
What most people might not realize is that once your reach a certain point of age, your body will actually start to *shrink* a bit from old age. Since Alakazam is of the human-like egg group, it probably share certain genetic traits to humans, including how we physically age.
Since Mega Alakazam has such a big white beard instead of its yellow moustache, mega evolution probably rapidly ages Alakazam to increase its mental powers. While this made Alakazam's psychic powers strong, its physical body suffered from the aging process, causing it to both grow a huge beard and shrink from its normal size.
At first I thought it's because Mega Alakazam is sitting down...
SegaMaster172 Also, in Sun and Moon, Mega Alakazam's Pokedex entry states, that
It's power has been converted completely into psychic energy, and it has lost all strength in it's muscles
and as people age they lose strength in their muscles.
But there's still one question: why did the weight stay the same? Are the spoons that heavy?
Sm Beast you can shrink but gain weight. obviously it lives a more sedentary lifestyle now.
Or his mega evolution just reshaped his body to have a bigger brain but a smaller body. Why do you guys have to think about these so deeply 😂
Better way to analyze:
1. Look at the Pokemon in the anime.
2. Open Pokedex profile.
3. Yell "WAT?!".
4. ???
5. Profit.

2. Check wailord's pokedex profile.

What about Regigigas? The pokedex says that it's 12'02" and weighs about 925lbs. While that may not seem too strange, the pokedex describes Regigigas as a "Pokémon that tows continents with ropes." To me, a pokemon that's a only about twice my height being able to tow a continent seems a little absurd.

I always found Pokémon weights to be weirder than their heights. Primal Groudon, a 16-foot tall behemoth made of molten rock that shaped the continents thousands of years ago, and by far the heaviest Pokémon in existence, is only the weight of a medium-sized car...
I always assumed the 'dex entries were averages or something. It'd make more sense to think that a younger Pokemon might be smaller than a mature one.
Something I liked about Colosseum and XD was that the Pokemon models were scaled to each other. A Roselia was tiny, and a Wailord was huge. In X and Y, they didn't even try to make the sizes look remotely accurate.

That may be what it says in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, mega evolution isn't what I'm talking about... Rayquaza is my favorite pokemon though, I spent 8 hours in a row one day on Emerald to get a shiny one, I use him on my main team and mega evolve him too! ;)

In Black/White there is a scene near the end in which Zekrom/Reshiram is besides N and is only a bit bigger.. Either these were runt legendaries, or humans in Pokemon are giants.

Azurill can use Surf. It is 8" (0.2m) and 4.4lbs (2.0kg). Azurill shouldn't be able to carry even an average baby let alone an adolescent child. And get this: it can even carry you up a waterfall.

Azurill has a base strength stat of 20. And not all Azurill have Huge Power as their ability.

I did the measurements on my Game Boy screen, and apparently Mario (in Super Mario Bros 3) is actually less than half an inch tall. Incredible.

The magnemite-magneton thing is just physics. Magnets gain weight multiplicatively, because they pull on the scale that weighs them harder.
Except they're electromagnets. It's got something to do with the relation of energy input to attraction output, & someone with a degree in this stuff, who actually knows what they're talking about would be more qualified to explain it to you.
Long story short & horribly oversimplified: the actual weight calculations would end up with the initial weight, being one ninth of the end weight, rather than one third, & I'm guessing that from there the Pokemon team just got lazy.
LiEF Green Electro-magnets would get pulled towards another magnetic material which may or may not be below it. Also, since weight is m*g and g is considered constant on earth, it is only dependent on m, ie mass and has nothing to do with electromagnetism or magnetism as is.So, 3 times mass will imply 3 times the weight.
LiEF Green Initial observations suggested that the radius of each magnemite in a magneton has 1.5 times the radius of a magnemite and that gives a perfect result in terms of both, the length and the weight. The longest length on a magneton will be along the centre of 2 magnemites, giving us 1.5*2=3 times the length. By means of mass, we get 3*(1.5^3) times the mass of a magnemite. Calculating 3*(1.5^3), we get,
3*(1.5^3)= 3*(3.375)= 10.125 times the mass. Those guys at Game Freak were surprisingly accurate!

Since height in this case will be from the top of its head to the ground, keeping the dimensions of the digletts in the dugtrio proportionate, mass ratio= (length ratio)^3. There is one problem with this that contradicts everything: the anime. The anime sizes are way different from the pokedex sizes, at least in some cases.

The Curious thing about Magnimite and Magniton.
Magniton may infact be much more dense upon evolving, also it being a magnet Pokemon, could also factor into the increased weight. Also consider that its a floating pokemon and that it is infact made of magnets its actual weight may be entirely unknown.
I honestly don't care about Pokemon real size. I'll just pretend they are what I think. Pokemon is a fantasy game after all.
Gliscor is almost twice as big as its pre-evolution Gligar, but weighs less.
I've come up with a fix for this:
Pokemon grow in size as they level up, so a level 36 Charizard is 5'09" but a level 100 Charizard can be much taller.
This is just my explanation for it, but I think it works

Or at least make variant sizes, like Charizard could be 5ft 7 & 198 lbs - 7'3" & 450 lbs. Cus obviously some animals are bigger than other of their species, like the average black guy could be 5ft 10 as opposed to Shaq who is like 7ft 2. This would also make pokemon catching more interesting.

I agree. Instead of having a single height and weight for a species there should be a height and weight ranges. I remeber in Ruby/Sapphire you could catch a fish pokemon and a guy will measure and weigh it.

I know that they are defensive beasts as I have on and it is hardly hurt by anything and mega evolved can take out other trainer's whole team.

In ORAS, there's a cutscene where you ride on the back of Groudon/Kyogre before they do the primordial reversion thing, and I was genuinely surprised at just how small they were as you rode them. But then the reversion thing happens and they suddenly grow huge, though.

And YES! I know these are fictional creatures, so having some sizes be a little exaggerated is to be expected,
but still, *Crobat's* Size in the Anime looked around the Size of a Great Horned Owl, or a Great Grey Owl! And those birds have wingspans of about 91-152 cm(great horned) and 137-152 cm(great grey)
Plus, Crobat was approximately half the size in the Anime compared to the official Pokedex Entry!
That's why I found Crobat's Size in the games confusing. :\

Speaking of the absurdity of Pokemon sizes, I've always loved the fact that Sentret is capable of learning Surf. A tiny little 2'07" mammal weighing in at just over 13 pounds is capable of carrying a ten year old across the freaking ocean. Even considering buoyancy effects weight in the water, I still fail to see how that makes any sense.

If the Sentret lays on it's front and makes itself as wide as possible and evens out it's weight distribution and make it greasy it could easily float with a child on it. and paddle really slowly...
Now that Sun and Moon have released, you should definitely do a part 3. Mudsdale is now the heaviest non-Mega non-legendary Pokémon, beating out the likes of Snorlax, Avalugg, and even some legendaries like Perfect Zygarde and Giratina! The heaviest overall Pokémon now is Celesteela (which makes at least a decent amount of since, given that it's 30 ft tall and made out of steel pillars) but it's tied with Cosmoem, an unevolved Pokémon which is nearly 5 times heavier than it's potential evolution, Sogaleo, and nearly TEN times heavier than its other evolution, Lunala! And yet, somehow, Lillie is able to carry it in her bag for several hours, in-game. Jesus Christ! Lillie must be ripped!
You might be wondering how Cosmoem fits into a bag then. Well, it's pretty simple. Cosmoem is the FIFTH SHORTEST POK´EMON at only FOUR INCHES! Even its pre-evolution is twice its size! And, while I'm sure that there are other examples of ludicrously sized Pokémon in SuMo, I'd like to close off with Kartana, the cool new Ultra Beast that is made of steel and looks about the size of a human... but is only a foot tall and 0.2 pounds. Knowing that, it suddenly got a whole lot less intimidating.
See what other weird Sun and Moon sizes you can find because, personally, I find this stuff fascinating!
Mudsdale is probably the only pokemon with a realistic weight because the real clydesdale horses can weight over 2000 pounds.

toiletmunger tsareena is only 3 foot 11, lycanroc moon is even shorter, bewear is 6 foot 11, which is actually quite fitting, oranguru is taller than tsareena at 4 foot 11, alolan exeggutor is 35 foot 9 meaning that i dont even come up to his tail-head according to its in game sprite, me, kommo-o and decidueye are all 5 foot 3, xurkitree is 12 foot 6 which is pretty neet, but it weighs 220 pounds! its a bunch of wires! i probably have that much wire on my wall and its only like 50 pounds total! guzzlord is as big as my house at 18 foot 1, and magearna is only 3 foot 3

dugtrio actually makes more sense if interpreted in a strange way. things go more massive by the cube of their height if proportions are kept the same, so each of dugtrio's heads would only need to be a little bit bigger to get that increase in weight.

I am thinking; few to no pokemon EVER live past the physical Age of 10-15 except maybe the Charizards in Charizard Valley. They at least looked big. I mean they looked to be able 6-7 feet tall. Ash's Charizard looked near if even half there height. I am thinking that cause the show is aimed at kids. They never design a Pokemon to be physical Teenage or Adult. Meaning the Poke-Dex uses Height and Weight from a Kid version of most if not ALL Pokemon. I mean if Oak made the Dex. Then he would aim to learn the Height and Weight when they are the 'least' of a threat. Meaning all Poke-Dex info is the Child sized versions.

Just cause it is evolved does not mean its done growing. When a normal human stop growing once they reach the age of 12-16. I use these numbers as examples cause some people consider children adult around these ages depending on your raising. More known might be a Girls Sweet 16 for some. As far as my knowledge goes a Girls physically stops growing at 18 and a boy at 21. However Pokemon can age differently but the main example I got to use as a grown Pokemon would be the Charizard that live in Charizard Valley. I mean if Ash Charzard would be 'fully' grown don't you think it would be at least half the height of most in the valley. Even good raising would not explain why they seem to stand taller then possibly most Charizards in the world.

People don't realize that The Pokedex's hight and weight are just the average for every pokemon. The average height for people is about 5-6 feet but not every human is the same height or weight, same can go for pokemon.

I think someof these (like Furret and Mega-Alakazam) are not measured from head to toe, but rather from head to tail. I'm 5'5", so I think it would be more accurate that a Furret would be six feet long rather than six feet tall. Still, that's a big ferret.

Ok, first off, We know that Xerneas (X) and Yvetal (Y) are related to Norse mythology, but have you ever thought of them as the chromosomes X & Y, now knowing this and knowing a bit of science, females with the two X chromosomes and males with the X and Y chromosomes, if you put those two together you get a zygote, which in my opinion is what the Pokemon Zyguard is based off of, now this could lead into a sequel to "Pokemon: Z" where (just like what happened in Black and White 2) maybe the two legendary X & Y Pokemon fuse and Zyguard has to fight them off or something, ALSO this may explain why Diamond Dust shows on your birthday, because (and I know this is wrong while in typing this, I really mean day of conception, but who knows that?) that's when your X & Y chromosomes meet and make YOU!!!

Well in the case of Magneton gaining a ludicrous amount of weight it may be an issue of being able to convert the energy for it's electrical attacks into mass via E=mc^2 (energy in an object is equal to the mass times the speed of light squared.)
As for Dugtrio... Maybe it's just big boned?
I agree the canon sizes are crazy (not everyday you find out you were the size of an average Blastoise in highschool lol). Two caveats with comparing Pokemon canon measurements and I know this is an old video: 1) Smash characters are scaled differently compared to canon generally so they're not canon size but represented in relative scale. And 2) the canon stats as compared to appearances in the anime are likely averages observed for the species so individual specimens can fluctuate in size, though that still doesn't necessarily explain discrepancies like Darkrai without a loophole (edit: realized I did that dumb thing of mixing a-b with 1-2 in a list so I corrected it)
