Hi Barry, thanks for the review. We'll look into why the hex heads don't fit the aluminium profiles. We added these bolts to the baseplate some time after the initial release specifically to make installation easier, but it appears the wrong spec/lenght may have been packed.
That's good to hear as this pedal set is going to my next purchase and I was a bit concerned about Barry's comments regarding the base plate installation.
Ian Longley I like polyurethane more than rubber, from my point of view it feels more natural (by leg... more like racing car brakes). So I'd like to buy polyurethane springs instead rubber for my HE Sprint. So I suggest HE to begin to make this upgrade for sprint pedals :). Fanatec sells this springs upgrade for 30 eur... I'd like to pay 70 for HE ).

I would like to say that I am grateful to you Barry for these videos. They offer a deep dive into best practices and offer detailed product information regarding breakdown, assembly, and adjustments not offered anywhere else, including the manufactures owner's manuals. I do wish that Barry would be slightly more critical regarding the product negatives. I do agree with Barry about the HE Sprints having some design flaws, such as the standoffs for the pedal tray's threads not being tapped down far enough. This causes enough of a gap between the tray and the standoffs, even with the suggested washers used (both in the manual & Barry). This is a minor nitpick but enough of one that causes owner's to do additional work to correct or just put up with the minor imperfection. I see several other opportunities for Heusinkveld to improve upon that cropped up during my installation. These being said I feel that for their price point it is a good product and I am satisfied with their overall useability as being the benchmark pedal set to own by the sim racing community. They are highly desirable and sought after product. If not upstaged by another company's product, they should maintain their resale value. I give them four out of five stars rating (4/5). 1) In order for all of the pedals to be of similar alignment, the Throttle Pedal must be moved all the way forward and then backed off slightly so as not to get hung up on the stainless steel pedal tray back lip when depressed. I would like to see the grooves on the backplate be shorted in the front to prevent this rubbing. Similarly, the Clutch and the Brake pedals must be moved to the furthest adjustment to the rear of there slots just to be in line with the Throttle Pedal. Even with using this maximum range of adjustment, I am unable to line up all three pedals all the way. I would like to see them do so with future revisions of the schematics and production. 2) The type of steel used to make the pedal brackets themselves (and possibly other components) is a very MILD type of steel. It is quite malleable and it is very easy to bend the material by hand (I'm not a very strong guy either!). All of the pressure on these parts happen on the z-axis, so conversely when assembled the Throttle, Break, and Clutch appears rigid enough to withstand the forces applied to them. Nonetheless, I would either like to see Heusinkveld use better quality steel or even go back to using stainless steel as a building material. It would be interesting to see if any warpage due to structural failure occurs overtime or not. Had I known of the mild steel, I would of more likely than not of chosen the Meca Cup pedals instead, but I preferred the integrated control box of the HE Sprints, as Meca's control box is separately mounted. 3) I agree with Barry regarding the method of securing the pedals to the sim rig itself. I would also like to see additional hight built into the bottom pedal rails, so as to be more readily accessible to using the standard fastener of choice, socket head bolts. A cutout above the area would be one way of doing this.
Thanks Barry, I just got my set a couple weeks ago and had yet to install them on my rig. I think the throttle pedal does have one additional adjustment you may have not covered but is on the Heusinkveld website, support section under the Sprint pedals tutorial video at around the 9:00 in for adjusting pedal travel. Was worth it to see this review before I get the chance to install this weekend. Great work and review as always.

Had these pedals for 2 weeks now. Huge move from Logitech but I heard good things over the Fanatec V3 and they're really nice. Takes a while to get used to a load cell but once you have it calibrated and dialled into your personal taste, really liking them. Heel plate is quite awkward, and it took some times to get myself into a comfortable position
Great review, I just (Dec 2022) bought the sprint pedals and the base plate. Had a nightmare with the base plate. That metal foot rest rattles like hell. I had to use 8 of those little washers (2 per hex screw) but for the price of this stuff I wouldn’t have thought I’d have been needing to do that.
I'm pretty sure the bend at the end of the pedal plate is for strength rather than aesthatics, especially since then pedal taking the most force will be mounted in the middle. Great review as always!

We currently release a production run 3-4 times per month on Fridays. We do no longer sell out within minutes, the last time it took around 48hrs. Demon Tweeks gets a fixed allocation of pedal sets every month, and although I cannot say this with certainty I think they most of the time should be able to deliver within 4-6 weeks. Our production has grown a lot since last year to the point where we rapidly ran out of space. In a few weeks we'll get additional workspace which will increase our assembly/storage/office space by 3 times. This should help us to increase production even further.

@@christoffera I'm 90% sure they gave up on the shifter, atleast for now anyways. When asked about it they usually reply with they are not currently working on any h-shifter at this time.
To fix that little wiggle problem, I would use a socket wrench to tighten the standoffs and use a spanner to hold those gripping washer nuts. Don't turn the nuts, turn the standoffs. Let the nuts dig into the painted steel; if you turn the nuts, they'll scrape off the paint and the steel will be exposed to moisture. If there are plenty of washers leftover, I would use those washers between the standoffs and the painted steel. Everything will be tight and should last a time. ☺👍
3 years old but still helped me decide to pickup a set of Team Redline Sprint pedals. Also, pretty sure your supposed to mount the heel plate AFTER you've mounted the pedals to your rig, that way it lets you adjust them as you need to.

@@simracinggarage3026 and PLEASE do a comparison to the Simucube 2 Pro. I know a lot of people are deciding between these two DD wheel bases. Your final thoughts on the Simucube 2 review were a little bit on the short side! ;-)
@@simracinggarage3026 Awesome! I'll be hanging tight until we hear your thoughts before choosing between the DD2 and the SC2 Pro. Thank you for all the great info and reviews; your attention to detail is greatly appreciated!
My first sim rig/equipment I'm using a csl dd 8nm, and the clubsport v3's. To be honest I've never been super impressed with the v3's, absolutely LOVE my csl dd though. The v3 pedals work well enough for sequential cars, but IMO they are prettyyy bad for h-pattern. Coming from focus st, focus rs, e39 528 manual, and a bunch of others I've had experience with, the clutch feels very unrealistic, which has made me really struggle to drive h pattern with them. So 95% of time I drive sequential cars. Im upgrading to these and can't wait, got to try them at microcenter and was blown away, not only the clutch but the throttle and brake too. I just reserved them at microcenter in Georgia and I'll be driving from north Carolina to pick them up, along with the mount/heel plate. Can't wait! Barry is the best with his reviews, I know exactly what to expect.
I was been waiting for a great review before i pulled the trigger on my next upgrade for my rig. I'm moving up from fanatec v3's I hope the people that made the move were please over the fanatec v3. If anyone has made the change feel free to comment. Thanks Barry.
Logo 800 i did and i can only recommend it. feeling for the brake got a lot better. So nice to scale. I had bpk on v3 as well but he sprint is just a lot better and much more customizable as well. Physically as well as with the new software. That calibration is so cool. I have like 5 different brake profiles for different road classes in iracing im switching regularly, awesome. You will need another level of stiffness in your rig tho and of course its another price class, but for me its worth it 100%
Logo 800 thats good for you. I dont even use more than 25kg of the load cell because it is so nice to meter your braking power and not that much of a workout on long stints :D And i were using the stiffest settings on v3 with the brake performance kit. I just like it more soft on this one.
Looks like it's been deleted already, but sorry Barry. I had a very bad day and said some stupid stuff last night. You reviews are thorough and so detailed and the sim community is better for it. I know that you spend many hours on these too. You are the sim review man!
I just got me a set, yet to try though. Gotta get it mounted next week. Too busy with school and certifications testing. Ordered through demon tweaks and took about a month to get in for ~$750.
Great review as always. I received my set of HE Sprint Pedals only a few days ago and am happy so far. I find the adjustments do make a meaningful difference and they are helpful in dialing in the way you want them to feel. I had noticed a small amount of movement on my 8020 rig so will be checking the baseplate mounting bolts and securing it with some washers now.
Great review as they all are, thank you. I just got mine delivered and as I don´t use the clutch and brake with my left foot I still find the cable from the throttle too short for my liking. Heusinkveld could´ve made it 2-3 cm longer and saved me quite a bit of frustration.
i think the software is the best part of these pedals, just being able to adjust the brake pressure deadzone to match the car im driving to completely stop locking up
Hi Barry, I have the Ultimates but barley use the brake capacity (around 60kg for me). I'm planning to downgrade to the sprints to take advantage of the HE smart software. Do you think this is a good idea?
Yes, the Utimates are amply named. They can put stress on your ankle, knee and hip joints even at lower levels. I sold mine because of this. I'm much more comfortable with a brake pedal with lower force settings and more travel range. Which makes driving more fun. But this is subjective. Others may disagree.
Yes. Still, with the pedals mounted to your rig it would be a bit fiddley to get a wrench on the nuts because of the short height clearence. There are other ways to access them. if you have an 80/20 rig you could mount to some longitudinal profiles and have room to access the nuts from underneath. I'm sure we could think of some other ways also.
If Barry put the 40mm spacers on the heel plate and the 20mm spacers on the pedal plate, he would have the same height difference but 20mm more access for pedal adjustments
I just got these installed and working on my rig last night. They're really easy to setup in the software but mine don't have any of these preset profiles installed. Am I overlooking something or were these pre-installed by the person that loaned them to you? EDIT: Never mind, I see they're on the Heusinkveld site under the support section! Not sure how i didn't see them when i downloaded the software.
Hi. I got them yesterday. But they r not working in my games. Do i need a software for them? Tbey r connected to my pc but in games im changing all the settings yet they r not functioning 😞
Will Smith Racing I don’t know if u got an answer to your question, the number he sees is probable the encode value and not the kg, the max encoder value is probably 4096 and that what he sees.
Thank you Barry. I can afford these but vs the Fanatec V3s, is it worth it? Price vs performance wise. It’ll cost me twice the V3s for the 2 pedal set and plate to get them shipped to Japan. The V3 inverted would be a little cheaper. Thoughts?
Although my name is not Barry, I can tell you my shift from Fanatec to Heusinkveld made me sell the Fanatec in a few days. I was sceptical too but am so glad I took the leap. The quality, the adjustability, the durability; it's all a level higher. Don't get me wrong: Fanatec sell some good stuff... Heusinkveld is better though (imho). I guess it all depends on what you are willing to spend on your hobby. My advice: if you can afford it, do so. You won't be disappointed.
Oh, another thing I forgot to mention but is important to bring out: Heusinkveld's customer support is out of this world. I have been helped by them, far more than I could have dreamt. There are few companies on that level.
Ruud Kuijer Thank you! I’ll probably go in that direction since it’s between the V3 inverted and the Heuskinvelds. Now I have to decide between a Fanatec 2.5 or direct drive. But, a direct drive will be twice the price before shipping to Japan. LOL
Excellent review . I bought the Heusinkveld sim pedal Pro s based on your review you did of them . They are excellent pedals and I am totally happy with them . I want to buy another set of pedals for my second rig and I am not sure if I should go for the Heusinkveld sim pedal Pro s again or the Heusinkveld sim pedal sprints . I would really like to know what you think . If you could have the Pros or the sprints , at the same price , which would you choose and why ??? Hope to hear from you and look forward to your next review !!!
My personal preference would be the Pros. All stainless steel build, and to me the Pros clutch felt a bit more realistic. Others may disagree. But only you will know which is the right choice for you needs.
The down and dirty solution to the pedal mounting problem, for me, would be to take a cut-off wheel and cut down the allen wrench to a stubbie length. Sometimes a little custom tool is the best solution.
Any issues with the exposed board on the brake pedal, collecting dust, dog hair, etc? Is it safe to vacuum that out or avoid due to static electricity? How do you clean that?
After you calibrate, how hard you pressed the brake will be stored on the pedal electronics. But when you adjust a profile, totally new settings will be saved to the pedal (47 or 15 or 65, whatever you want). You can totally skip the profiles page and just calibrate at a certain force. If you want to tweak or create profiles for different cars, the profile page allows changing of forces without re calibrating.
Heusinkveld support is awesome but it's got a faulty design. The face plate has only one screw and it keeps on getting loose while doing heeltoe. Extremely frustrating!
do you think I Could use these pedals on a desk and computer chair? they look pretty straight with no tilt the the fanatec v3s. thanks for the info, Jeremy.
Seems like the Pros and the Ultras are much more thought through when it comes to adjusting and mounting. Also the pedal plate for Pro and Ultra is easier to work with.
Agree, as a Pro user i would think the sprints would be a lot harder to adjust on the cockpit as barry suggested. I have a Simlabs P1 so i would need to take the whole pedal cradle out to make adjustment, impossible, no but a lot harder i feel
@@menacegtr Its a little harder but once the angles are dialed in, you don't really need to adjust that anymore. The other adjustments are all fairly doable with the pedals installed on a rig.
really surprised they didnt use carriage bolts for the pedal mounts. would have been the way to do. put the nuts on top and never need to get to the bottom.
Hi, Very good program, I have few question, what you recommend: Leo Bodnar 54 or Simucube ultimate and wish pedals to make a training sim, I gonna build inside a Mygale F4 chassis Thank you
I have not had an opportunity to review the Ulitmate. I don't comment on products I have not had in my hands. I can say this. For a long time my prefered wheelbase has been the SS2 54G . Based on the systems I have tested to date, I don't see that changing.
Big difference imho. People say you don't need the Ultimates if you don't need the extra kg load cell etc. I've had them back to back and to me there is a huge difference in feel.

Do you have any updates on the H pattern shifter you were working on?
@@christoffera I'm 90% sure they gave up on the shifter, atleast for now anyways. When asked about it they usually reply with they are not currently working on any h-shifter at this time.
@@michaelritch8270 Thats a shame! From the videos Ive seen it looked like a nice shifter.
Nice collection of fpv quads you got there!
Just got one of these bad boys. Definitely recommend them!
nice shifter bro. i thought it was a sequential but no, its the H pattern. good fuckin job, insane rig and nice video. very helpful. cant believe i never heard of heusinkveld before.
Best review I have ever seen in my life! Thank you.
Tip: Don't mount the foot-rest before the pedals are mounted to your rig.
Great review as always. All of us can't wait for your Fanatec DD2 wheelbase review next please:)
I should have one on hand withing the next couple of weeks for review.
Sim Racing Garage I’m also curious how the DD1 will perform compared to the DD2 wheelbase
Not me watching Barry’s video instead of reading the manual assembly 😂. Guilty🙋🏿♂️
Can't wait! Barry is the best with his reviews, I know exactly what to expect.
ah man, you're such a legend Barry. "Feel the screw, be the screw" 😂
Thanks for this review, it helped me to make my choice, especially the plate review part :)
Good job as usal !
I just ordered one. Waiting to test it!
You will need another level of stiffness in your rig tho and of course its another price class, but for me its worth it 100%
I'm hope it's worth it as looking at getting them soon. Thanks for the feedback and as for my rid rock solid Sim lab rig.
Logo 800 thats good for you. I dont even use more than 25kg of the load cell because it is so nice to meter your braking power and not that much of a workout on long stints :D And i were using the stiffest settings on v3 with the brake performance kit. I just like it more soft on this one.
i made the move also as the v3’s began to be to twitchy with the min level on the brake. Also had the bpk installed
Awesome review as ever Barry.. :-)
Oh man was I looking for this ! great product and great reviewer.
My hex bolts were bottoming out on my 8020 rig to. I had to get some extra washers to stop it from doing that.
Been tossing up between these and the simworx v3 lc. I still have a hard decision to make 😁.
I should be aquiring the SimWorx pedals in the near future for review.
Hey, im looking at the simworx v3 and HE sprint, planning to upgrade from fanatec csl LC. Which pedal did you ended up upgrading to ?
Looks like it's been deleted already, but sorry Barry. I had a very bad day and said some stupid stuff last night. You reviews are thorough and so detailed and the sim community is better for it. I know that you spend many hours on these too. You are the sim review man!
You did it again Barry
the 3 mounting holes line up with t3pa holes
I just got me a set, yet to try though. Gotta get it mounted next week. Too busy with school and certifications testing. Ordered through demon tweaks and took about a month to get in for ~$750.
I wonder how hard it would be to mount these inverted in a Sim lab GT1 Evo rig...
Not that hard. Buy more 80/20 profile to make a housing to hold these upside down
Great review as always.
Hey Marian, if you contact support and tell them I sent you'll help you out with that 👍🏻
@@RemcoHitman Thank you. It´s definitely worth trying because I still haven't found that kind of cable anywhere here in Slovakia.
Where did I learn the most before college? From Barry's engineering lessons.
i think the software is the best part of these pedals, just being able to adjust the brake pressure deadzone to match the car im driving to completely stop locking up
iRacing Rookie this. The pedals are super nice but the software is the best part for me. Real masterpiece
These are the pedals I will buy one day. But almost impossible to find them!! I hope they will increase production.
Deamon Tweaks. I got them from there (waiting list principle) in about 2 weeks time
@@denisva1987 You know, i am European , and I prefer to not have like 300 dollar of charge, or something like that... :D
@@andreaiachini7517 I'm from Belgium. It's a UK based company. It didn't cost me a single more € compared to Heusinkveld website price ;)
@@denisva1987 OMG sorry, I didn't read well the message sorry. I thought you were talking about Simxperience
Hey Barry you can edit xml files using notepad. So glad I finally got to teach you something.
@@simracinggarage3026 thanks Barry!
So if you mounted the pedals before the heel rest you could get to the underneath from the front it looks like?
Which car's engine sound are we hearing in the intro please?
1:23:06 Could you let me know the bolt size for mounting pedals to Tray.
Hi! Do you happen to know where to buy the 20mm and 40mm spacers? I bought mine used but didn't come with them and the plate is too low imo.
Whats the difference between the sprints and ultimates?
If Barry put the 40mm spacers on the heel plate and the 20mm spacers on the pedal plate, he would have the same height difference but 20mm more access for pedal adjustments
I love this guy
I just got these installed and working on my rig last night. They're really easy to setup in the software but mine don't have any of these preset profiles installed. Am I overlooking something or were these pre-installed by the person that loaned them to you?
EDIT: Never mind, I see they're on the Heusinkveld site under the support section! Not sure how i didn't see them when i downloaded the software.
Hi. I got them yesterday. But they r not working in my games. Do i need a software for them? Tbey r connected to my pc but in games im changing all the settings yet they r not functioning 😞
what happened to the 20kg of missing force required to push the brake
Will Smith Racing I don’t know if u got an answer to your question, the number he sees is probable the encode value and not the kg, the max encoder value is probably 4096 and that what he sees.
Can I do fine without the pedal tray?
Ok , Thanks !!
@SimRacingGarage Did you figure out why the brake load cell maxed out at 40?
LOL
Im tossing up between these or the Simworx pro pedals, would be an interesting comparison.
I should be aquiring the SimWorx pedals in the near future for review.
@@simracinggarage3026 Cheers for your speedy reply . As far as im concerned , you know best . Pros it is !!! Thank you for your time .
The down and dirty solution to the pedal mounting problem, for me, would be to take a cut-off wheel and cut down the allen wrench to a stubbie length. Sometimes a little custom tool is the best solution.
I agree. Then I go and lose it! :)
Any issues with the exposed board on the brake pedal, collecting dust, dog hair, etc? Is it safe to vacuum that out or avoid due to static electricity? How do you clean that?
still can’t believe the video length 😮😝
Hi, barry why the kg diffrence between 32 calibration kgr and 47kgr profile ? thanks
Question buddy, would you buy the sprints or get a 2nd hand pro set, if the price of the pro set was around 250 euros ? Thanks in advance!
Heusinkveld support is awesome but it's got a faulty design. The face plate has only one screw and it keeps on getting loose while doing heeltoe. Extremely frustrating!
do you think I Could use these pedals on a desk and computer chair? they look pretty straight with no tilt the the fanatec v3s. thanks for the info, Jeremy.
would i be able to put these on a heavy duty foldable wheelstand ?
Have the issues with the pedal plate design and bolts been addressed?
Immediately after the feedback from a few loyal customers!
Could anyone tell me the diameter of the brake rod? or the inner diameter of the rubber?
really surprised they didnt use carriage bolts for the pedal mounts. would have been the way to do. put the nuts on top and never need to get to the bottom.
Currently all my sim gear is Fanatec. Do I need drive hub in order to replace my current CSL Elite pedals?
Nope, these plug in as a seperate device 🙂
@@RemcoHitman thank you for your info.
Why Is there a MFG Crosswind on the back?
Can you combine the soft and medium bumper?
The reason is I want more travel.
Yes. I stack them with the softest bumper on top and the hardest on the bottom.
Sim Racing Garage Awesome thanks you so much for replying that means a lot.
Hi,
Very good program, I have few question, what you recommend: Leo Bodnar 54 or Simucube ultimate and wish pedals to make a training sim, I gonna build inside a Mygale F4 chassis
Thank you
I have not had an opportunity to review the Ulitmate. I don't comment on products I have not had in my hands. I can say this. For a long time my prefered wheelbase has been the SS2 54G . Based on the systems I have tested to date, I don't see that changing.
Seems money is not a problem for an endurance GT3 driver, these or ultimate?
Are there any compatibility issues with these pedals for any games? Are they easily recognized? I play everything from sim racing to the crew 2
Is there a noticeable difference in feel when compared to the ultimate series pedals that utilize the small hydraulic damper in each pedal?
Big difference imho. People say you don't need the Ultimates if you don't need the extra kg load cell etc. I've had them back to back and to me there is a huge difference in feel.
for me the ultimates feel really different because of the damper, i whould always go with the ultimates over the pros
Agreed. Ultimates are a completely different animal. Positioned to accomadate those who want stiffer pedal forces across the board.
Great video, but why is the throttle a loadcell instead of a potentiometer
Because it is slack-free, perfectly linear and very reliable, especially over time 🙂
Does the Ultimates have the same software for calibration and multiple profiles for different cars ?
