    So what I’m understanding about full recovery is that we will still experience intrusive thoughts from time to time (Because we are human and everyone does) we just won’t go back to compulsions. This sounds nice tbh. I’m very happy for you Danielle and I think you’re amazing. Your message is beautiful, letting people know that full recovery is possible. I really like what Shala Nicely says about OCD - the man in the park / shoulders back and maybe maybe not (saying it loud). And all that you and Nathan say. Thank you

      I like Shala too! Uncertain thoughts don't feel intrusive in the recovery stage:)

    I have ocd and my gf does to and we want to get married this year and for some reason I would keep getting anxiety about getting married but I do want it! Ocd sucks my head would drive me nuts about it. "Oh u don't love her if ur anxious about getting married" crap like that it's so annoying we've been together for over a year love her so much!

      Been there! It would benefit you both to get ERP treatment starting now, so that it doesn’t get worse. Feel free to check out the link in the description of the video if you want my help. Congratulations!

    I hope I can get to where you are. I know I love my partner, but I have so much anxiety on what if he isn’t the one and what if there is someone else meant for me. I research things everyday 😢

    • @MyOCDCoach

      ERP will get you there, we just need to learn it effectively and make it a lifetime practice!

  • @MyOCDCoach
    @MyOCDCoach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How has ERP helped you? Has ERP been difficult for you to continue?

    • @MyOCDCoach
      @MyOCDCoach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Learning ERP in therapy got me 80% better. I then had learned how to take it further, and I’ve been in the full recovery stage ever since. It feels hard because you’re used to running away from the discomfort, but once you start doing ERP, you’ll see that it always makes you feel better. If you make it a way of life, and use it whenever there is uncertainty or imperfection, OCD won’t bother you anymore.

    ROCD doesn’t have to be about leaving the other person there are people who are anxious about been left and look at their own flaws instead of focusing on how bad their partner is. I definitely avoid people

    I have one question. What is the difference between “not letting your brain go there” and like suppressing the thought. Cause I know it’s important to expose yourself with ERP and such. Thanks!!

    • @MyOCDCoach
      @MyOCDCoach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You allow the thought to be there, you’re not upset that it’s there, but you just choose not to give it attention. It’s the conscious choice of what to do with it versus trying to push it away or get rid of it.

    Hello! I will try to make a long story short, day I decided genuinely to propose to my wife, something snapped in my brain and I lost it. Told her I loved this other girl from my past that I hadn’t talked to for years. We pushed through and been together for 3 years but recently this other girl keeps popping up in my mind, and that I love her and not my wife. I want to love my wife, only my wife, be committed to her and this thought comes with such an insanely strong realistic feeling. This is ROCD right? What do I do? Thank you and congrats!

    • @MyOCDCoach
      @MyOCDCoach  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd have to talk to you further to determine for sure, but it sounds like it. Thank you:) Your goals are possible when you learn The REAL Method and recovery skills!

      @chrismesserian4035 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MyOCDCoach to add to it, this other girl pops in my mind and I can’t get her out of my mind and it makes me so insanely anxious I feel like I have to just leave everything in my life and be with her like that’s the only solution. I already know love is a choice and I chose to marry my wife and loved her and love her, even tho sadly the “feeling” of love goes to this other girl :(. I assume this started cause of the commitment of marriage?

      I’m not clear on your question. There’s a lot of people that struggle with physical appearance or features of their partner.
