    I appreciate your approach to teaching.. To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough, we just need to hold onto our hopes and wait to see how things turn out because market movements are almost always unpredictable. In my portfolio, I'm noticing more red than green.

      People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyper-inflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.

      Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.

      These are good picks. But IMO I see a mild recession, with the economy contracting to start in the final quarter of this year into the first half of next year. And in the market, we may see these mini bear market rallies, but nothing to jump on.

    Hi Bryan, loving the your videos, keep them coming. I am very interested in investing in IVV.ASX (still in the research phase) I have noticed that the S&P 500 has gone up over 2% on the 6th Jan, however the IVV etf has actually gone down slightly (at the time of this comment) What is the reason for this if the IVV tracks the S&P 500 index? And what is the difference between IVV.ASX and IVV Core? Cheers.

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Jay! Thanks for the kind words mate 👍
      Great question. So with IVV (ASX), it is known as a currency unhedged ETF meaning it is valued in Aussie dollars so it’s subject to currency movements between AUD & USD. There is a currency hedged version called IHVV which is valued in USD (but still listed on the ASX) so you will get a very close performance to the S&P 500 (which is of course valued in USD). If you check out IHVV, it also went up about 2% today. So if you want to buy the hedged version, you have to pay a higher management fee (0.1%) compared to IVV (0.04%).
      So which ever currency is performing better will also mean the related ETF will perform better.
      However, over the long term, currency fluctuations usually evens itself out so it’s up to you if you want to hedge or not.
      Hope this made sense and helped you out!

    Hi Community, I am still very new and learning a lot in my research. I think there is one obvious point I am having trouble understanding and I feel it is very confronting to me beginning my portfolio. How are we making money by investing? I understanding that divid ends are a ROI. But how are we making my by simply investing in a company, etf, etc. What return are we supposed to be seeing into our investment? Im just not sure I understand.

    • @BryanInvest
      @BryanInvest  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Usually you profit in shares in 2 ways:
      1. Dividends as you mentioned.
      2. Share price appreciation. The share price increases when there are more buyers than sellers or more demand for the shares. If you buy a stock for $5 and it increases to $10 then you just made a 100% profit (before tax).
