my dad's voice lowkey ruins my peace like i love him and all- BUT WHY SO LOUD AND FAST URGHHHHHH its like AN ALARM and then the lenticular lens with nails scratching against it-
I know what you mean about voices. The basic American accent sometimes bothers me a bit to hear, (probably from having to have lived in the U.S. for several years growing up, as a European) but far more-so is what’s known as “creaky-voice”; It’s a quality that some Americans have while talking (and, very rarely, others) wherein their voice does an irritating creaking noise at the end of a sentence, and is usually an affectation. That, and shrill voices irritate me immensely. Voices on the higher side are fine on their own, but shrillness is annoying. Lower, more full-bodied and stronger accented voices are much more pleasant to me, and fortunately, mine is. Mysophonia is a strange experience.

It's like the glass is trying to steal MY moisture or something???? Like it's taking away my hydration wherever there's contact. It makes me feel like I'm dying

4:54 ya nasa does this so astronauts aren't dealing with huge temperature swings every 45 minutes, blue onesie with some water tubes that can pump hot or cold water to maintain temperature
I’m not sure if it’s sensory issues or just misophonia, but ASMR videos *really* bring out the Fight or Flight response in me and I’ve never figured out why.
I thought Misophonia was a sensory issue, I feel the same way, for me eatings noises if bad enough can make me want to puke, I also start wanting to or actually start crying from eating noises(if its bad enough though, mostly just want to run away), ASMR is torture, when I looked up about Misophonia they say we dont fully understand it and dont know why certain noises do that, just that either a sensory part of people with misophonia's brains is bigger than normal or is over-active and produces too much of a chemical/hormone Annoying that it makes me wanna cry and avoid people, makes me feel rude and super pathetic especially since Im male
Some ASMR vids done by professionals are actually calming, I just don't like when animals do it, chewing/mukbang is involved or noobs think it's just putting noise close to your ear.
My friend is the same way. I love asmr and find the spine tinglies relaxing, but they're super anxiety inducing for her. I think it puts her body in defense mode or something
bro we’re literally the same person. I animate, my name is andy, I have adhd, and for me the biggest uncomfortable thingy is prolababably styrofoam. the sound and texture
The closest thing I've felt to the "liquid-cooling of a person" is when I was dehydrated and at the hospital, and I was connected to an IV with saline water. I felt VERY cold, but it was a good cold that was inside rather than outside. It was weird.
@@Captain_FritzI think it’s fine, had to get IV some times but never for days, just hours. But I guess everyone feels different, what did you hate the most?
"Squimchy" or "grippy" glass from the dishwasher happens when you remove all oils and residue from the glass. In other words, you touched clean glass for the first time! I live for squimchy glass.
Interesting. So it's like drinking water from a filter? Tastes worse, so probably cleaner. I have to assume that with basically any water I don't like the taste of.
Funny thing liquid cooling exists, generally I've really only seen it in operating rooms to keep the surgeon cool or the nurses warm as it can cycle cold or warm water, but I've also seen furries and mascots have them under their suits to cool them. It's pretty neat stuff
Our race cars have them! Theyre called cool shirts. We keep a reservoir which is essentially a cooler with a pump that pumps water into the suit and back to the cooler! its kinda sick.

The clatter alone makes me physically dizzy. I can really only stand plastic or disposable dishware, which my mom still berates me for, but fuck all that heavy loud cold hard dish shit
So fun fact, in autosport there are cool suits that have tubes through them that run cold water over you. The reservoirs are like, cooler sized, but this is a real product that you can actually buy in the real world!
@@Nubby007 I've seen the Japanese ones, but those use just air, not actual water cooling. Looking of it now, I see a lot of phase-change stuff in the PPE stores, but again nothing with water cooling.
And the name of one of the leading brands of cooling shirt is... COOLSHIRT. I've used home-made ones (basically a bunch of tubes duct taped together) when racing in the heat and the effect is incredible.
the feeling of nails against that kind of paper that’s really REALLY smooth in some picture books will cause me to die. Also rubbing my fingers together when they are dry, have flour on them, or have just been using clay gives me chills anytime I think about it

4:01 I relate to this and I’ll give you my reason on why I hate sleeping with socks on. It’s because I go to sleep most of the time really warm from either getting anxious about something, remembering that time in elementary school that was so embarrassing that it makes me have a literal burst of energy and gets me to move around rapidly and make noises, my blankets are warming me a lot more than they should that night, or umm…other causes (😉) and having socks on when feeling warm makes my feet feel agonizingly uncomfortable so soon I rip them off and I fall asleep just fine. But for me it’s just feeling more intense heat down on my feet rather than anywhere else since no one’s feet aren’t always naturally warm, and also because I hate hot temperatures lol-
My older sister had a horrible aversion to tags, like every time she would feel them on accident on bedding or a piece of clothing she would physically recoil. We ended up cutting off the tags of like everything in the house & it makes doing laundry pretty difficult at times. She passed almost 3 years ago and I think of her every time I can't find the tag on something, sometimes its the little things that make me miss her the most. I love you Grace, Iife isn't right without you.

Actually I’m pretty sure Wade AKA Lordminion has this same issue with styrofoam. And you know what? I have this issue with hearing scrubbing noises, it makes me feel like my teeth are vibrating like an Xbox 360 controller. I don’t even know if I have ADHD or autism or something, my parents think getting tested is a waste of time so 💀
@@wieldylattice3015 It's so sad to see that people think these normal responses are signs of autism or something. They're not. (Trust me, I've had multiple psychiatrists conclude that I do not have any type of autism). I do hate the sound of styrofoam rubbing against itself, or worse, styrofoam against cardboard.
The glass thing is from micro scratches on the surface, and is refered to as etched glass. The scratches come from the glass powder in dishwasher detergent that's used as a scrubbing agent scrubbing a little too much
You can delay that problem a lot by: 1) using a less aggressive wash cycle when there are glasses in the load. 2) Using a rinse aid 3) Periodically cleaning your dishwasher, either with a specific product, or just going in there with vinegar and clean cloths. Make sure to clear out the trash grinder in the bottom. or Hand-washing your glasses.
Oh my gosh, I love how you draw your dog! She looks like a cookies and cream potato in your art style! Seeing her made me giggle with delight, she’s very cute!
For the dentist one, some dentistry offices have a water lasery thingy instead of the scratchy thing. It works more effectively and actually feels pretty nice! I'd recommend finding an office that will do that for you if you're so against the way your current office does it :)
I think I had my dentist do both of those in the same sitting once D: speaking of, my gums randomly ache recently.. and I haven’t had my teeth cleaned in over a year… hmmm maybe time for finding adult dentist after aging out of the kids one

I did the exact same thing when I was learning how to do the dishes! Slowly one by one glasses started breaking significantly easier and then I realized I was the problem
About the socks thing, this is actually because your feet are a big factor in reducing body temperature before sleep. They act like a heat-exchanger, helping your body reach the temperature it needs to enter sleep.
It's funny because on multiple occasions I've physically not been able to go to sleep because I felt too warm but after taking off just my socks everything was fine suddenly
@@-localbard- i once read a study that was like, "this is why your kids stick their little hands and feet out of bed when you try to tuck them in" and its bc you vent (?) heat from ur hands and feet (that's also why they get sweaty often cold feet, sweaty hands et etc)
To get to sleep, I HAVE to have at least some bit of sheet on top of me. Even if it is just the corner across my waist. I have long had pretty aggressive (and prescription treated) hypothyroidism. This means, among other things, my internal thermostat is kind of broken. When it's hot, I stick my feet off the side of the bed so nothing touches them and gets them hot. When it's cool, I sleep like the bed was designed, under a sheet and maybe a thin blanket. When it's cold, I HAVE to have socks on to be able to sleep of my feet are so cold they keep me awake. Luckily (?) I've amassed a hoard of hospital socks that are JUST enough to help keep the feet warm without making them super sweaty.
I don't know why, but I hate the feeling soup foam when I use a spong to wash the dishes or when I wash my hands, it really makes me shake my entire body as if I'm actually electrocuted
iPhone alarms genuinely terrify me. It’s gotten to the point where I will wake up 5-15 minutes before the alarm goes off just to turn it off so I don’t feel that overwhelming anxiety of being jumpscared mid-sleep
As an autistic and adhd person, this is literally me. All day, Everyday. Literally all of those things are sensory issues I have and I feel so SEEN. I’ve always been told I’m too sensitive and weird, and it feels nice to see someone else who gets it lol
For me the sock thing is the opposite. I have to wear socks in bed, if not, every little movement tickles my feet and it gets really uncomfortable, especially if I’ve been wearing socks for the entire day. My feet are just to sensitive after that
I am so glad that I got a therapist who specializes in ADHD. One thing I learned was the ASD/ADHD thing that is Sensory Processing Disorder (hyper/hyposensitivity in your senses), and Misophonia ("emotional or physiological responses that some might perceive as unreasonable given the circumstance"). I was told of guy who got really angry from the sound of the rain. Which honestly made me kinda sad, because for me, sometimes playing rain audio is one of the only things that can help me relax enough to sleep. I love the sound of the rain!!! --- Personally, seeing this thumbnail, I was thinking about how much I hate making calls for appointments/important calls that I just _know_ are going to be annoying/difficult. Because I would rather be electrocuted, sometimes. ---- But for me, even though I have long hair, I hate when especially the ends poke my face or neck especially. Like, sometimes it makes me want to shave off my hair when I'm already feeling overloaded and then getting stabbed by nuisance hair. Or sounds such as coughing or loud plastic packaging noises. It's like...all I can hear is a person stuffing their hand in the bag of chips, and it makes me unable to focus on what I was watching. Or if I can hear someone scratching their skin, or picking their nails... --- tl;dr having sensory sensitivities sucks. But it also rules. I can taste the differences in different water. I see/hear things that other people can miss at first. One time at school, I thought I smelled smoke at school and joked that I wouldn't be able to go to math class. I sit down in class, a few minutes pass, and the smoke alarms go off. Turned out a kid had a cigarette they put in their locker that was not fully put out. So while sometimes being more sensitive to sensory things can suck, it can also feel kinda cool, like being able to read a house number in the dark, when nobody else in the car can.
omfg finally someone knows what spd is once i had a friend and i told her i had spd and she was like "oh cool" and then like the next week she came up to me and was like "sPd iSiNt rEal" and i was like "gurl-"
I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD since 3rd grade and for me I fucking LOVE fluffy soft things it gives me so much serotonin but itchy scratchy materials like certain dresses, cloths, and blankets makes me physically scrunch up in disgust
Ah yes, Andy discovers the sensory sensitivity aspect of ADHD (fun fact, when referring to sounds it's called misphonia). Some of my personal squicks are flashy fluorescent lights, hearing electricity, the sound of scraping cardboard, wearing damp clothing, and touching slimy dishes. Welcome to the neurodivergent community!
Good news (that's actually bad news in disguise). As you get older, it gets harder to hear electricity cuz it's often a high pitched noise and that like the first sound one loses in their hearing
For the hair noise thing, I honestly recommend a WetBrush ( the brand, not a soppy brush ) it helps to brush out all the tangles really fast with no weird pulling sounds:))
I had a wet brush once. My hair absorbed it like the plant in Little Shop of Horrors. (I have horrible, hateful hair). The only ones that have a hope of getting through my hair is the stiffist cheapo brush or Dr. Knot. The Dr. Knot brush does not hurt. I love Dr. Knot.
The bed and sock thing is something I relate to very much. It became a recent thing to stop wearing them in bed since it rubs against my feet, and sometimes feels cramped in space.. Even though I literally sleep like a rabbit; I have a pillow for resting my head, one over my head, one to hug, a thick ass blanket over me, and a heavy pillow seat thing that rests over my legs to give it pressure. I don't understand myself for how socks aren't great to me to have in bed, but everything else is
No, no, I get it. I have trouble wearing socks myself. As for me, though, the feeling of the socks grating against my skin or each other drives me insane.
Fun fact: the C3PO suit for rise of skywalker was actually watercooled. Between takes the crew would hook up a machine that pumped cold water through the chest. The actor, Anthony Daniels, said it felt like a stroke
My friend also would hug me out of nowhere at the worst time possible, theres that one time where she hug me after we had our PE class. Which i find uncomfortable and very very gross and sticky. Its not just her, whenever someone wants to hug or physically show their love to me id run as fast as i could and hide somewhere.
100% agree, dentist scrapey thing is terrible. another thing I hate is when I'm shopping and I think a shirt or pillow is going to be super soft and then it's SCRITCHY. I have to find a super soft pillow/shirt and bury my hands into it for like two minutes to cleanse myself of the awful texture.
Omg I’ve never heard of anyone else doing that!!! As much trouble as I have with sensory stuff, I love touching things when I go shopping. So it is very common for me to touch a shirt or pillow that feels gross and I literally have to rub something else that feels ok to “clean” the feeling off my hand. (9 times out of 10 my own outfit) I always hear of other people having sensory problems, but I’ve never heard anyone mention the need to get the gross feeling off!
It’s gotten to the point that if I go shopping with my sister, she will touch the textures for me and tell me which ones are ok and which ones would give me the ick.
I remember squimchy glass from when I was little and we had an older dishwasher. Recently, I was at someone's house and touched a squimchy glass. I had almost forgotten the unimaginable pain. But it made me think of this video again, and now I'm back here, so that's cool :)
Ah yes, sensory issues. I love seeing what affects other ADHDs different from me. Half of these he said never crossed my mind as a votherosme thing haha
I have to wear socks. Dry skin and fabrics are basically the end all be all to my sensory issues. The glasses thing was somewhat relatable but I tried this Mr. Bubble spray foam for the shower and it made my skin feel like that. it turned me into Gumby and that was a geniune nightmare this has been a PSA to stay away from that stuff.
@@MiScusi69Anybody can relate at least to some extent to what neurodivergent people experience. Because they are people too. What changes is the amount and intensity they have to deal with, and how much it affects their life. In this case, ICS has ADHD and so it makes the topic related to ADHD, even if just tangentially. Doesn’t mean you can’t find a common ground too
My partner found your channel about a week ago and promptly introduced me to your content and I just wanted to say that your videos are insanely relatable and so chaotically beautiful
A weird icky feeling/sound for me is when my nails run across silk or nylon (e.g. belts or straps) all weird - (more so when I was a kid) the vibrations that I felt when my nails accidentally dragged across their surface the wrong way gave me goosebumps and made me feel really uncomfortable
Oh my gay same but for wool. Each time I touch wool, especially old, used wool, the feeling feels. Raunchy. Like if the word "grinch" or "scrinch" was a sensation. then the feeling would report to my TEETH And let me tell you how uncomfortable it feels. It feels like biting bitter cotton candy but the cotton candy doesn't dissolve and just sticks to you. :(
Liquid cooling shirts are totally a thing! There are a lot of different styles but they're usually meant for outdoorsy/exercise people. They connect to a backpack that has an ice pack with some water in it. It's really amazing for the summers here in Texas. Some companies even make full body jumpsuits, though I personally find those a little uncomfortable.
So the closest thing I can think of when comparing that feeling of socks in a blanket to is when I first wore a tight fitting undershirt with a loose top. The dual sensations of wearing something both tight and loose are something you have to get accustomed to and made me immediately uncomfortable at first.
oh my GOD i'm not the only person that gets upset at the scratchy glasses in the dishwasher?! you have also taught me WHY that happens!!! i was flailing in primal discomfort in my seat during that part of the video, but i am also walking away wiser lol. thank you!
two sounds that make me shiver in discomfort are kroger water bottles squeaking toghether while trying to put them in the fridge and sliding your hand on a car window
2:13 It's because of the connotation, the alarm makes you feel dread because college makes you feel dread, but your dog's tail doesn't bother you because dog makes you happy :)
The one tactile thing that really bugs me is that semi-gloss workbook paper they gave us in elementary school. Writing on that stuff with a pencil was horrible and if you scratched it with your fingernails it was even worse. However, I find cleaning hairbrushes very satisfying haha
I used to HATE the feel of the sponge (we used chalk so does dry chalk sponge …. ) but later on in life it became very satisfying , weird but I had a home scent that loved and poured it on it , smells nice and feels nice I wanted to bite it lol .

I’m not sure if it’s sensory issues or just misophonia, but ASMR videos *really* bring out the Fight or Flight response in me and I’ve never figured out why.
I thought Misophonia was a sensory issue, I feel the same way, for me eatings noises if bad enough can make me want to puke, I also start wanting to or actually start crying from eating noises(if its bad enough though, mostly just want to run away), ASMR is torture, when I looked up about Misophonia they say we dont fully understand it and dont know why certain noises do that, just that either a sensory part of people with misophonia's brains is bigger than normal or is over-active and produces too much of a chemical/hormone
Annoying that it makes me wanna cry and avoid people, makes me feel rude and super pathetic especially since Im male
They make me want to start hitting things.

The closest thing I've felt to the "liquid-cooling of a person" is when I was dehydrated and at the hospital, and I was connected to an IV with saline water. I felt VERY cold, but it was a good cold that was inside rather than outside. It was weird.
A similar cold would probably be the one where you drink a really cold drink very quickly and it's sitting there, being cold, in your stomach.
IVs suck ass (I was in the hospital for two weeks ((worst two weeks ever cuz of that)) )
Liquid cooling is sweat tho

You can delay that problem a lot by:
1) using a less aggressive wash cycle when there are glasses in the load.

About the socks thing, this is actually because your feet are a big factor in reducing body temperature before sleep. They act like a heat-exchanger, helping your body reach the temperature it needs to enter sleep.
That's interesting! I always get in bed with socks and then kick them off once my feet are sufficiently warm- best of both worlds!
Thank you for making me feel like my feet aren't crazy 😂
I needed that!

---
Personally, seeing this thumbnail, I was thinking about how much I hate making calls for appointments/important calls that I just _know_ are going to be annoying/difficult. Because I would rather be electrocuted, sometimes.
----
But for me, even though I have long hair, I hate when especially the ends poke my face or neck especially.
---
tl;dr having sensory sensitivities sucks.

People with sensory issues often have issues with socks. Try doing some research into it! :D
No, no, I get it. I have trouble wearing socks myself. As for me, though, the feeling of the socks grating against my skin or each other drives me insane.

I pet myself after touching the Evil Deceptive Textures because I know my clothes are Good Textures 😂
Omg I’ve never heard of anyone else doing that!!! As much trouble as I have with sensory stuff, I love touching things when I go shopping. :(
I usually don't care about noises, but I know exactly what you are taking about and I hate that noise because of the reaction that happens.
“Would it be possible to liquid cool a person?” -Andy directly after talking about being sweaty
They're also used as the innermost layer of EVA suits
So the closest thing I can think of when comparing that feeling of socks in a blanket to is when I first wore a tight fitting undershirt with a loose top. The dual sensations of wearing something both tight and loose are something you have to get accustomed to and made me immediately uncomfortable at first.
“This thing is both too tight and too loose at the same time it does not compute.”
oh my GOD i'm not the only person that gets upset at the scratchy glasses in the dishwasher?! you have also taught me WHY that happens!!! i was flailing in primal discomfort in my seat during that part of the video, but i am also walking away wiser lol. thank you!
i too hate the feeling of *scratchy* glasses‼️the feeling makes me want to shrivel up into a tiny ball whenever i touch a glass.
two sounds that make me shiver in discomfort are kroger water bottles squeaking toghether while trying to put them in the fridge and sliding your hand on a car window
Andy is becoming more and more creature-like every video.
I felt that lol
ITS PAIN
omg I hate those, drawing on them was awfull
GLOSSY PAPER HAS BEEN MY ENEMY FOR 26 YEARS!!!!! I’m so glad someone relates 😂
I used to HATE the feel of the sponge (we used chalk so does dry chalk sponge …. ) but later on in life it became very satisfying , weird but I had a home scent that loved and poured it on it , smells nice and feels nice I wanted to bite it lol .
here's ONE I HATE--- THE SOUND OF A METLE WATERBOLTE HITING THE FLOOR
