      Gin was a popular thing in America in the early 20th century. But by the end of the century it lost it’s favor. It’s more popular now but at the same time a lot of people still don’t drink it. Personally I’m the only person I know that drinks it.

      @@nononsensegindrinking5152 If only they taught about gin in schools! 😂 I must try some old tom. Is it unmistakably different? or is the difference similar to that between brands on London dry?

      @nononsensegindrinking5152  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adam M. Daly
      I think they should put it on the national curriculum!
      I gave some to a friend last week who is not hugely in to gin and even he could taste the difference. It’s not massive but definitely unmistakable, especially if you drink london dry regularly. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on it. The Hayman’s is a particularly good example and very reasonably priced too 👍

      @@nononsensegindrinking5152 I'm new to the channel, but I love how often you answer user questions.
      I know sloe berries were plentiful in the UK and were often used in home made Gin, but what I'm trying to figure out is how it went from a high ABV, low sugar style to the opposite. If sugar was so hard to come by and the Brits liked their gin boozy, why do you think we often see it at 25% ABV and 300g of sugar per Litre or higher?

    Haha, I’m from Holland and you couldn’t be racist to me even if you tried. I’m proud of my heritage and wouldn’t want to hide anything of our history! It is part of who we are, the good and the bad things we’ve done cannot be said too often. Reminds us of our mistakes and our achievements which both are a positive! And to be honest, try a joint on the beach with a proper gin&tonic and you will most likely be very content.
