slowing down and taking longer is such a good tip. I find myself learning a lot more when I try doing illustrations that take me a week or two to finish. Learning to draw faster is great for experienced artists and professionals who have mastered the basics and are just polishing their skills
@@guiltyshoesHI✨ idk about them but for me it takes 8 days minimum to finish a drawing sometimes stretching into three weeks and I honestly couldnt tell you why😭 i know that when i render it's very non anime style so i have to split everything into different parts and render everything separately to get complete renders and sometimes certain things depending on the angles, perspectives etc cause certain things to take days (like a recent piece i did the skin took 4 days alone) then when I merge everything I have to rerender so it flows together nicely then i have to render AGAIN for some lighting additions and value checks then a last render for touch ups Im not using render lightly i have to do the drawing multiple times and its worse if i end up straying off my original idea in any way cause then everything has to change as well Idk if your question was serious or not but yeah😅

Every time I watch your videos, I feel a surge of motivation and energy to keep pushing forward, not just in art, but in life as well. Your experiences and ideas are truly inspiring, and I’m so grateful that you’ve shared them with us! I’m sure you’ve helped countless people improve themselves, and I just want to thank you once again, Ori!
It was a little bit too much editing for me in the beginning of the video. I also don't know whether other people had the same experience as me, but it was really disorientating watching your vtuber model. That's because your model that's doing the speaking part animation, was way too high for me to notice. For this, i do think that lowering the whole model down a bit would be beneficial, so the main focus would be cat talking. Though that would also leave a problem if you'd want to show the whole model to the audience.
The confidence of casually saying "I'm on top 1% of people" is crazy and I absolutely can't argue about it. You're so amazing and reached the peak of tallest mountains. I feel like looking at a giant, then that giant lifted me, put me on his shoulder and gives me the knowledge to be able to reach that height someday.
I love how oridays' videos are so psychological. It feels relatable and isnt just a load of knowledge chucked at you, thats why I cant help but keep coming back when I get a burnout.
I like how your channel has always sort of been focused on more general parts of learning art, I tend to be structure less and a bit confused on those aspects so the guidance is nice. It’s why you’re one of the channels I can be bothered to actually sub to because your videos always put me in the mood to improve, thanks for your content Ori
There's something so comforting in your voice and the way you express, you really inspire me to keep improving and give my best. Thank you for doing these videos. PD: I love your Vtuber model!
I’ve been drawing every day for ~8 months now, on average I draw for 3 hours. I just recently finished a piece for my sister and the realization is starting to hit me that yes, to get to where I wanna be, I’m probably gonna need to keep at this for years. After 8 months I’m only now starting to internalize the proportions and angles of the face, to the point that I could construct a head at any angle. To get this practiced for the body. For rendering certain body parts, hell to just make good lineart. It’ll be a long time. But this is what I wanna do. Good luck in your journeys everyone!❤
Its great to see you back, Ori! Your videos are always very informative and to the point, and this one's no exception. Thanks for all of this great advice for all of us artists trying to stand out on the internet!
This is all really good advice! I'd like to offer something I learned when I was new to art. If you want to get out of your own way and actually do the things you want to do, *stop talking about it*. If you don't actually get into doing it, talking about what you want to do feels better than actually doing it. The only cure is to keep your head down and do it.
Thank you so much for making the course! Legit got so excited when you started implying you're making a course (and so happy that you're responding to the suggestion for it left in the survey (Im assuming more people than myself included asked for it in the survey haha)). Signed up for the waitlist. Don't care what it will cost or if it'll be free. I'm hyped on getting more in-depth from you. Thank you Ori!
Hey ori. I've been down so many times procrastinating cause I didn't saw any improvement in my art. Yet your videos always cheer me up to stop procrastination. Thanks and I'm 100% waiting for the course!
Hey man these days ive been using your art for reference and i wanna say tysm for being such a huge kickstarter to me wanting to draw. It was your art which encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone of just drawing without putting in the effort and i gotta thank you for that
I fell into that trap of being impatient I tried to jump into drawing backgrounds and characters right away without learning the basics shapes and the human anatomy which i’m now going back to the start of to get a firm understanding of it
Thanks for always providing motivation ori sensei, it kept me going on for so far to improve myself alot, recently i gotten myself a Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and it might signal the end for me.... i hope sensei will still motivate everybody in their art journey and wish you keep healthy sensei!!
Thank you very much. I really mean what I'm saying after three years of me trying and failing at becoming an artist. It's so discouraging but I refuse to quit and you just gave me what I need to succeed!
Your videos are amazing as you are. Well, I once was very passionate about photography, then, with drawing, but... After discovering multisensory aphantasia I found so many answers why I haven't got any results after years of practice. So I gave up on those things. However if anyone reading this wants to draw or create in any other form, you can do it! As Ori said, with the right tools and mindset you can get there. You all can do it!
I always wanted to lean how to draw art properly but could never figure out how to actually progress ro achieve that goal, this video has been a huge motivational surge that I have come up with seceral different specific ideas for what I might actually be my art style.
The vtuber model is looking great! 🥰 Looking forward to your course. Personally, I hope for something that can be used on-demand, rather than attended live. I think there's still room for a high quality English voiced course like that. There is good stuff online, but it's like 99% subtitles with Japanese/Korean/Chinese speech.
Hey ori, I know you have absolutely no clue who I am but I just wanted to say thank you. seeing your journey and receiving advice about mentality, technique etc over the years has help me progress so much. I hope you see this and understand how profound of an impact you have had on people's lives. Thank you so much for everything. You have been my number one inspiration as a developing artist in the way that you approach Art.
I feel like most of this video is stuff he already said in his past videos (its still really good advice). Its nice to hear about him making a course tho
This video made me realise that even if I've only been 3 years drawing and I'm still not successful in social media, I’m bound to become successful since I keep improving little by little and I have unique ideas to contrast myself to the rest. In fact, from minute 0 since I started learning anime artstyle, I had already decided my "blue ocean": eye zoom animations (as stinger transitions for Vtubers for example) and eye reflection artwork, both featuring anime girls only. This is a rare niche in the whole Internet and despite some people told me that I cannot just focus on only anime girls' eyes alone, it's what I wish to specialise in, but nonetheless I'll keep developing more and more skills to support this and, who knows, be able to participate in an anime production someday. PD: your Vtuber is absolutely unique and charming!
An interesting perspective on this topic ✨️ and 6:01 - this was refreshing to hear because, in social media, there's constant pressure to draw as fast as you can!
thank you for the tips ori ! If i may, It would be great if there's a video talking about social media side of art. Or the business side of arts. Social media is draining, yes, but it's still one of the method to get your artwork known.
8:05 I agree, you can actually reach great heights in 3 years, I looked at a lot of artists that have all of their works posted from beginning to the current point and it usually takes 3-4 years for them to get really good
I agree with you opinion that an artists artstyle is just something that develops over time. It's not something that you can just "make" it sort of just happens and develops on your own based on what you yourself personally like to visually see. and of course this can be affected from studies, and even learning of what other artists do. I have seen several artists whos art styles have similarities to them, so it could easily be said that they influenced each other in some way.
the sampling is god tier advice. i do that with the hobbies i need to satisfy but i dont plan becoming competitive at. like enjoying ilustration and memes or manga and 2 of those making simpler and short time project to scratch the inch if posible
The perk of starting art younger is your art will look better at a younger age where most adults are extremely self-conscious especially if their art looks more like a beginner level where kids tend to not be super self conscious till their teen years, I personally started drawing when I was 16 I'm 22 now and finally feel like I'm actually growing faster now but it took a long time to get here and I'm thankful I stuck through the years of anxiety, depression and just overall dissatisfaction with my art my mindset recently has changed to just have fun with it and since doing that I've improved faster. Adutls I also think are actually better at learning things faster because you can understand concepts that are more complex a lot sooner, never too late to start to learn as until your dead you still have time. Issue is most adults will give up when things get hard or don't look the way they want and this is why a lot of people will bounce between a lot of skills and never really get good at any you need to stick out the ugly stuff even if it's multiple years because you can never be truly good at something if you never put the time in to truly understand and learn it

Could you do a video on social media at some point? I feel like my art is at least on par with other mid sized creators, but I can’t break past ~10 likes on any of my posts!
Its funny because i spent a year doing 3d art and i thought it was for me and i did everything to avoid learning how to draw. but after a year of 3d i quit and i picked up real art after playing around with ai art. now i been drawing consistently for half a year with the 50/50 rule 4-8h a day with rest days. and focusing on study + doodling. I'm zooming in terms of progress compared to a lot of people. wish i started sooner.
Im following this path: Choose a specific part to learn like hands Try and watch materials until i can do it in a decent way Going to the next specific part
2:31 dude that hit me like a truck... made me cry, because that's exactly how I think, I know (kinda) where I am and where I want to get... It's kinda of a Clear path

I'm zooming in terms of progress compared to a lot of people. wish i started sooner.
you have opened my mind to the fourth dimension

Looks like I have discovered a method to always stay constructive
I recently saw Steve Martin live. Funny to see him come up here.
I kept wondering why the anime girl's mouth wasn't moving on the Vtuber model. it took me awhile to realize it was the cat talking lol

Im following this path:
Choose a specific part to learn like hands
Try and watch materials until i can do it in a decent way
Going to the next specific part
2:31 dude that hit me like a truck... made me cry, because that's exactly how I think, I know (kinda) where I am and where I want to get... It's kinda of a Clear path
