Hello from Kansas, really enjoying your channel. I started handloading in the 80s with 32 h&r magnum and 85 grain xtp. Always good performance out of hornady products.
swear i was gonna request the 110gr XTP next! That is outstanding performance. Excellent penetration, expansion and temporary/permanent wound cavities. The 125gr, 158gr bullets penetrated pretty deeply. The 110gr is the Goldie Locks weight for .357 Mag BTW, i also have the Ruger 1740 5". Bud's has em for $850!!
@@bern1998 that is a nice velocity bump for the 2”. It’d be way over driving it from the rifle though. Guess if I was only loading for the short barrel I’d probably give it a try. Since I’ve been loading so many different weights I’ve been pulling data from the Hornady book and didn’t really think to check Hodgdens app.
@@bern1998 I would expect a greater standard velocity deviation with H110/296 powders than I would with the Power Pistol, Blue Dot or Unique when using the lighter bullets.

Excellent. The whole series has been comprehensive and informative.
Thank you for the detailed work!

Impressive results
Thanks. Used to load a lot of hardcast. 357, usually 158 grain. May have to start loading again using premium bullets.
@@Bob.W. I’d like to find some heavy hard cast to test in this series. Hopefully I’ll find some before I move on to another caliber. 😉
Excellent!
Great video
Great video! Have not seen any other reports on this bullet.
I’m curious why you didn’t say with h110 and use Hodgdon’s load data? I feel the higher speed would have given a different effect on the test.
@@bern1998 What advantageous differences would you expect with an extra 100fps?
@@kentuckyrangetime well I’m seeing 1,500 fps with a 2” King Cobra with H110. I feel the juice is worth the squeeze.
