@@sundaymorningdrives Yeah. I had a Solstice GXP when they came out. it had the same type of roof, and I never remember complaining about it. But that was a much less expensive car. I still fine the car attractive though.

Are heated buckets exclusive to your region? No heated option on lightweight carbon buckets in Canada!
I am not sure, but these seats are really good, different from the ones in the GT cars
These are Euro option, kind of a mid grade seat. Not carbon. I wish we got these in Canada I would have ordered them

It’s almost 95% like the 981 cayman interior and exterior. Damn! Porsche really should put more focus on those things to make a difference
There are quite a bit of difference if you look closely. Some people might think the similarities are part of the "heritage" and "history", like the 911, but some might think it's just design laziness, haha

That roof is the only deal breaker for me.

Roof is no problem when you are used to it - gives the chance to walk round and appreciate great shape

The roof only takes 20-30 seconds.
The suspension is softer. Same hardware but tuned softer than the GT4. It's more compliant for the street.

The chassis and engine in the 718 Spyder and GT4 are the same. The only difference between the two cars is the roof (soft top manual convertible in the Spyder) and the rear spoiler. Other than that the two are identical in every way.
@watchingu83 Porsche always say that, but it always seem a little different in the ride quality, like the GT3 and the touring as well...
@@watchingu83 The damper tuning (in PASM software) on the 718 Spyder is different and a bit softer than the GT4. Otherwise, the suspension hardware is the same.

Not too sure, but there are a lot of wind noise at higher speed
188mph Top speed with roof up in 718- unlike RS that is limited with removable roof at around 125 mph

For me it's the 420, because it's more of what I am looking for in a special weekend car, it's more raw and direct, and because I already have a GT3, so the 718 wouldn't be on my list. But if I am only to have ONE sportscar, the 718 Spyder is probably a very very tempting choice. What would you pick?

The Spyder RS look more and more interesting for me!
The roof in the Spyder RS is more complicated to install and take off than the 718 Spyder

@kimyee2010 you need to take the whole roof off manually in the RS I think, pretty labor intensive haha

and apparent those pieces will scratch up the car pretty easily

Ya, it's a bit inconvenient, but it does allow the Spyder to maintain that double hump shape at the back which looks nice.
The Spyder is the essence of a beautiful midengine sports car and afaic far more aesthetically pleasing than the tarted up RS with those ugly plasticy looking intake humps
I think they both look pretty good, and are meant for different driving scenarios. You own a Spyder yourself?
No the only correct answer is the Spyder RS , 9,000 rpm cup car engine
Yes, the Spyder RS is a more thrilling car, but because of it's price and allocation issues, it might not be for everyone, not to mention the even more complicated manual roof, the less-comfortable ride, and the very loud cabin, maybe most people will prefer the Spyder over the RS? I am not sure.
Beautiful car but the first 9 minutes of the video are useless, just repeating what others have already said done on countless videos “ intro, exterior, interior, roof etc” just focus on the driving part!!! … and stop pointing the camera to your face we want to see the road ahead!

I have no complaints. Easy to focus on what you are saying, and what you are saying is very helpful and enjoyable and easy to listen to. We really don’t need the drama of a lot of other reviewers.

@@sundaymorningdrives wait until you add JCR exhaust system (over axle pipe + rear). You'll love it even 10 times more. Trust me. And while you're at it, add the air filter BMC.
