The story I heard and that made sense to me is that there's a clause in Liam's contract that if he didn't have a seat by the end of September, he becomes a free agent. If Daniel had been lighting up the timetables, they'd let Liam's contract lapse, but since he's not, the org's interest in retaining Liam trumps any desire to let Daniel finish out the season. Bummer, but that's the business.
But I interpreted this to mean he just needed to be signed onto a 2025 seat by Sept, not physically sat in the car. I might be wrong, if so this doesn't necesitate them rushing DR out
@@Ugluk1000 When clauses, it’s definitely more likely that Liam Lawson needs to have a drive in the 2025 F1 season or he will become a free agent. Daniel has a contract to end of 2024 season and Christian Horner likes DR to much allow him to be removed from a seat, half way through a season. The question is, is Checo or DR will retiring from F1 at the end of the season?

Yes DR was popular…mainly because of of his personality. F1 is not charity; why would they need to keep him till the end of the season when they could test other drivers instead.
They keep saying “Daniel should have never left RedBull”, that’s very true, and that team wanted to keep him… but they had that Renault engine in his last few years, the reliability was completely *non-existent.* And they were switching to Honda which had an even slower and less reliable engine with McLaren. DR’s career choices sadly derailed him and he never recovered. Great personality, but in Formula 1 that can only get you so far. New talent will always prevail when you struggle to get out of Q1.
I want to see fair contracts (1 year max) with their pay included in the 400million cap. Both drivers should be paid the same in 2024 as the do they same job. Equal pay??
No
Not Surprised
Kind of disappointed in Lawson. To be hanging over Daniel like that is just bad form, especially for a Kiwi to an Ozzie. History shows being a Red Bull fill in driver generally doesn’t work out well. Just ask Daniel or Alguersuari how well that worked out for him when he replaced Bourdais in a similar manner.
Liam seems cool but not champion material. Just my opinion
3/4 of the grid isn’t championship material.
@@jimmytheskip i agree
So is danel bro

Give this man an F1 presenter role!
Good then maybe race Indy car?
Redbull need a British driver. The British media will not say anything bad about a Brit 😢 sad but true
If the Hulk can come back, anything can happen…
I think it's just sad. He should have really raken a year of away from the sport instead if jumping back in after six months. He would have been in a much better mindset just like Hulkenberg.
I’ve said it multiple times
Liam deserves that seat more than anyone. Daniel has been in the sport for a while he could go to WEC or Indycar
Daniel has been gone since the start of the season. But he actually checked out long ago when he started listening to Sepos and spending time in Nuttyfornia instead of going home. I told him to get rid of the Loser number and use a Winners number, 05!
Its sad for me.After senna died i stoped seeing F1 for 2 decades plus some more then that. When i came back with out knowing anyone or anything my attention went to Lewis,Seb,Kimi and danniel and now Danniel will also leave F1 for good.I feel sad thinking of it and thinking that only Lewis remain makes me sad.Good luck danniel i hope a miracle happens and you remain in F1
Redbull should put him in Checo seat for a year he has had terrible season in that car test Daniel in that seat and see if car suits him better was quicker than Piastri in FP in the Vcarb...
Yeah, and maybe if the Red Bull doesn’t suit they can put him in the Sauber. And of that doesn’t suit then the Williams. Then the Haas. Seems no car fucking suits the guy.
@@cameronelliott9709 might suit him better than Perez who seems to struggle in car set-up for Max at least a test would show result as Redbull are seeming to struggle... 2026 is completely new regulations McLaren didn't get competitive till early 2023 upgrades so it's not all about drivers now Lando is running up front Aston dropped back this year is it Alonso driving style...
it's way overdue.

No, he's not going anywhere!
No problem with the decision but leadership fumbled the execution. Pretty mickey mouse organization not to pump the tires on the driver that's staying too.
If Liam can drive the car better it's an easy decision, if not then this was all for not.
By the way they were not sunglasses they were welding extra dark glasses lol
I think he'll continue as reserve driver for both RB.
There's a very good chance Max leaves RB in 26
Why , he fucked up the car last year as test driver which we now know.
