From our videos, it may sometimes look as if we're very rich, but in fact, we actually live on quite a tight budget. But that doesn't always have to mean that we can't spend much money. We went to Cambodia, which is one of the cheapest countries in the world, and figured out that money goes a very long way there. In this video, we'll take you to the famous Ankor Wat temple complex, we go shopping in Siem Reap, we get massages and cocktails, and even oysters. Let's just hope that oysters were a good idea...

I didn t visit but what i remember of Cambodia was how fun it was to drive in the capital with all the traffic and the drivers are so skill they look more at their phone than at the traffic even on scooters. I also appreciated a lot the sugar cane juice stands. That was almost the only liquid i drank in the whole SEAsian trip. I was also impress with the cows eating plastic bags.... But driving the highways was the most dangerous roads i ever encounter. My comfortable speed is around 45-50 km and truckers drives like crazy. The dust was bad also. Not as much as in Laos but almost....

Flip flops are not the best thing to wear out in the jungle exploring ancient temples. I wore sturdy sandals with a thick sole, and arch support and heal strap when exploring the temples.
Spent two months in Siem Reap in 2017. Rented a comfortable little apartment for $150 a month. Angkor Wat started out as a Hindu temple. That is why the bare breasted carvings. It later was to become a Buddhist temple. To see the temples properly and not be rushed ….you need at least the three day pass.
Cambodia became a French colony….for about 100 years. In old buildings you may see a French colonial appearance.

I’ve lived there long enough to know they do use fake foods and recycle gutter oil. Once moving to Shanghai, it was a little better but I still got sick unless everything was thoroughly cooked and prepared. I think for several months I only stuck with the Korean owned bbq stall outside of the building I worked at. It was much cleaner and I didn’t get as sick eating from the stall.

Naturism is frowned upon by the local authorities who adopt quite a prudish approach to nakedness and sex in general.
Previously tourists have been arrested for posing naked at temples. Bars have encountered problems for allowing go go style dancing as in Thailand. It's illegal in Cambodia.
Sex in general is considered taboo. Last week over 30 Chinese pornographers were arrested in the main foreigner district, BKK, for shooting porn videos using Cambodian bar girls/prostitutes. China has exported many of its finest criminals to Cambodia due to the lax rules - drug dealers, kidnappers, murderers etc. Must be more triads in Cambodia than Hong Kong now.

We heard about the cases of naked people posing in front of temples and we agree with the local government to act against that. It's a matter of respect. If we want naturism to grow internationally, we need to do this with all respect for culture and religion.

    Who is Khom?
The latest research done by Chiang Mai University in collaboration with an international research team has examined DNA samples from Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Burma, and Cambodia, compared with DNA samples from ancient humans found in archaeological excavations of each country. Compared to the current ASEAN DNA
As a result, Thailand is close to Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia, but Burma and Cambodia are separated. People who lived during the Khom civilization are pedigree South Indian Mon which is not found in Cambodia This clearly indicates that Khmer is not Khom and Khom Warman was completely eradicated from the present Khmer faction, which had no Khmer ancestry. This coincides with the story of Nai Tang Wan (Mr.Sweet Melon) Rebellion who established himself as a later king with the eradication of the Varman dynasty and theories. Diva Sarug Khmer according to the Sap Bak inscription was just a savage village recruited for slave labor. (China-Zhou Da Guang's record)

@@NakedWanderings This person is Siamese, all these type of "Thai" people do is find videos related to Cambodia and comment things to humiliate Cambodia. Khom or Krom means below or underneath (according to some Tai languages and Khmer). It's hard to tell if the "Khoms" are the Khmers or the people of Lavo (ancient Mon kingdom). The Thais love claiming Mon kingdoms as "Siamese" kingdoms. Currently, "Khom" is an UNKNOWN ethnicity in Myanmar, Cambodia. Only few people from Laos know what "Khom" is. As for the Thais, they got hundreds of 20-21st century books about it.
These temples, such as Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm etc were built by ancient Khmer people, during the fall of Angkor, the Siamese took everything from Angkor. Some Khmers fled to Siam (thats why some Thais have Khmer "Khom" ancestry) and other kingdoms. The Khmers changed their capital from Angkor to Chaktomuk (modern day Phnom Penh) but abondoned it again. Then moved to Longvek (Lavek) which was the sacked by the Siamese again. After Longvek (Lavek), they moved to Oudong/Udong. Then moved back to Chaktomuk again or now known as central Phnom Penh and built the new royal palace there. During this time, the Siamese already took Khmer provinces such as Siemmarat (Siem Reap), Mongkul Borei, Srisophon (Sereisophon, Banteay Mean Chey), Prah Tabong (Battambang) and more. The Khmers contacted the French for help to avoid Siam and Vietnam swallowing Cambodia. Cambodia then became a French protectorate, captured Chulalangkorn (Thai King) and made him sign a treaty to give back Cambodias provinces. Siam had stole many things from Cambodia.

I wouldn’t trust this person’s version of history either. They’ve been known to make up their own accts of history to suit their narrative which conflicts with the scriptures and etching on our ancient temples which is something that cannot be denied. But Siams still try anyway. Khmers were the indigenous people of that region and it’s something Siams cannot accept. Alas, they come up with their own “history” that makes more sense to them to what they’ve been fed.

So true brother. There are so many of these doing it all over the internet trying to convince the world of their fake history and fake “studies”. The other day some of them even argued that Angkor Wat originally belonged to Thailand LOL 😂 that’s all you need to know about their intentions and their thinking.

Nick: Do you think your torn jeans looked disreputable? You should've seen our teenage daughter's "currently fashionable" torn jeans! It had more tears than I care to remember! (We finally got rid of them, but she still has another fashionably-torn pair!) Also, my esteem for you guys just went up a couple of notches for your enjoyment of the USD$1 mango smoothie and the margarita. If you're ever in Mexico City for the Amor-Nud nudist temazcal, I will treat you to my special margarita, made with Herradura Ultra, Cointreau, and Grand Marnier! (Your lack of naturist footage on account of none to be found in Cambodia is forgiven!)
