    1. Style of play (too many 3's)
    2. Marketing of young stars and teams (LeBron and Steph are close to retirement)
    3. Perception (players don't care anymore)

      @ blm in the NBA was after the NBA's initial ratings decline if im not mistaken. Lebron and the whole 'diddy party' nonsense is far too new and most fans won't stop watching the NBA in it's entirety because of one player and his extracurricular choices. Players taking a knee had minimal impact. The issue with the NBA is lack of future star power, marketability and the game itself turned into a three point contest. The NFL has FAR more political issues than the NBA and they have remained just as popular as they have been. I hear your points but I don't think those issues are large enough.

    Problem solved: push the 3 pt line further out. This will stop non shooters from taking 3s they have no business taking and bring back the mid range game. Adam Silver is making this too complicated. Oh and the analytics will agree with players not shooting 3s so much bc the %s will really change if the line is pushed 3 to 4 feet out

  • @RatedMRR

    It’s the players. Playing 82 games and taking the regular season serious was a badge of honor in the 80-00’s. Michael Jordan took a game in Utah in November serious as he would in June. Players simply don’t care. It’s about their brand and their outfit.

    All you need to do is push the 3 pt line further out and that will (1) stop non shooters from attempting 3 pt shots they have no business taking and (2) bring back the mid range game bc spacing will open up on the court. Problem solved. Not that difficult. But Adam Silver and the suits want make this thing so complicated

    • @brucewilson3226
      @brucewilson3226 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @ just means teams would have to play more man to man and not zone. I hated zone defense in the nba anyway. It could still work. Just have to work on the defensive side of the ball. The main point is the analytics would change where it doesn’t make sense to shoot so many 3s. That’s making these games dull to watch on tv. The game would be more interesting with guys having to use a mid range and back to the basket offense like the 80s and 90s. And you could still see high scores bc back those days guys still scored a lot of points bc the shot %s were higher. Bottom line I would push the 3 pt line back than considering a 4 pt shot that Adam Silver is considering which getting to the point of pure ridiculousness

    THE SPORT HAS BEEN DESTROYED BY CAPITALISM ..... the entire game has been changed to cater to scoring because they deduced that fans like 'scoring' more than anything .... there has also been a 'race to the bottom' in terms of actual players ... the NBA went from an 'above the rim, dunk league' to MONEY BALL CITY all 3 pointers .....
    here's the issue, THE PLAYERS ARE TOO TALENTED, we're not watching anything unique, we are watching players perfect skills that have already been determined make for a successful player, and EVERYONE is optimal playing size, height, speed etc!
    It's really not the players fault and FIGHTING doesn't fix the issues! The fighting era of basketball was unwatchable as well, it was from Magic/Bird Isaiah era to Lebron's first 10 years in the league that are the BEST years of NBA .... players had roles, players had positions, everyone wasn't 7 foot shooting 3's
    It's not going back, so watch what you like and turn off what you don't!

    • @Iamhimbutyouarenot
      @Iamhimbutyouarenot 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Most of this comment is inaccurate because the players are not better hoopers. They’re just faster and jump higher. They aren’t as skilled as players of the last that had to rely on skill to outdo the phenoms.

      @ NAH, the players NOW are perfecting already proven to be BEST PRACTICES … they are making choices based on analytics …. NO ONE is unvetted before they get big minutes on a team!

      And off the court they are a lower liability

      Another perspective: People forget the rest of media, that the nba have to compete against for viewership. If it was an in-game thing such as 3s, space etc etc, don’t people think the nba would correct that easily by changing the rules.
      The internet helped the nba grow and created more competition at the same time.

    Great example. The highest value team is the cowboys in NFL. But they don't win everyday and don't need to for it to be successful. Highest value teams in NBA are not in the picture. No one is watching.
    The NBA needs to be modeled after the NFL. On top of that it needs to bring back the defence and less 3 pointers shooting.
