The Mountain House comes in a variety of flavors and is a good choice when you are in a hurry.

I recently moved up to Oregon and I have been getting into hiking and backpacking and I must say your channel has got to be the best out there. You get right to the point, teach things that aren't in other videos, and have a wonderful voice. Thank you for making these and sharing your knowledge.

I do enjoy a Mountain House meal. They are very handy to use and no cleanup involved. The chili mac one is very good. Sometimes quick and easy is just right. I use these and other brands and also make my own dehydrated meals for the trail......Take care, Bluefin.

I need to research on how to make my own dehydrated meal. That sounds like a pretty good option. And just knowing how to do it would be a good skill to know. Thanks for the info and comment.

I cooked chipped beef with white gravy over biscuits this weekend. I used the Firebox Nano with Trangia alcohol burner and Pathfinder 8” skillet.

I bet it was good too. This gear works great for a solo backpacker; I like it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

This is my go to if I hike into camp a long distance. Light weight.
    Thanks for the post!

You probably get there about dark, and you just don't have time to cook. It's a great option under those conditions. Thanks for watching!

GREAT description of everything! i have eaten Mountain House for years and in the woods after a long day of hiking they are like eating gourmet food! M.H have bay far the best flavor and the shelf life is incredible. I have a few old ones they don't make anymore. Also just so you know... every year or two they will change and add something new! The newer Buffalo chicken is off the hook!!! Thanks John!!

I'll be looking for the Buffalo chicken. I check them out often when I go to WalMart. You're right, the shelf life of these things are like 30 years. Thanks again for supporting my channel. I really appreciate you!.

The OPSAK works good to keep the smell down. Thanks for watching!

Might just have to give the MH chili mac beef & beans a try. Have to portion the contents cause the wife doesn't do any spicy food. Thanks.
