    The tarp is expensive, but it is quality. I've been using this tarp for years, and the ridge has never leaked. The doors are a great feature.

    John, that shock cord idea is awesome. I'm definitely going to add that to my "toolbox". Great video! Thanks.

      The shock cord is the trick. My tarp is a lightweight silnylon. Without the shock code, it would be loose in the morning. I added the shock cord, and the problem was solved. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    This was a great way to spend time in my van during a downpour. I keep bank line on board, so made up a ridge line. Thank you, John.

    Hey John,
    Did you switch from using the built-in ridgeline to using your own for a reason? Your old tarp setup videos, you used the built in one but I see here you aren’t. Just ordered this tarp and looking for ideas on how I should set it up. Great video as always though! Love your channel!

    • @JohnMillwoodOutdoors
      @JohnMillwoodOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like my own ridgeline if I'm just using the tarp as a shelter or ground camping. I prefer the built in one though when hammock camping. The reason is that the built in one is much easier to center over the hammock to align with the straps. So when you close the doors, they clear the hammock straps so you don't have your strap touching the tarp. If you have the strap touching the tarp at the doors, it makes a path for water that may run down and get underneath the hammock if you don't have a good drip line. Thanks for asking. I appreciate you watching!

      It's the Warbonnet Superfly Tarp (11 foot). I just pinned a comment at the top of the video with a gear list if you're interested. Thanks for asking and watching my video!
