Thank you very much Michael, i'm glad you get enjoyment from watching my videos, your support and encouragement is much appreciated. All the very best Alan
Another great video Alan, you looked like you was being blown around a bit. I do like the bad weather though I must admit. Easy to say when you're not on a boat. I lived on a yacht for a few years in Greece a long time ago so I know what wind and boats is like! Hope you had the fire going and lots of cups of tea. The people you met looked really nice. Stay well!
@@James-h3r8l Many thanks James, whilst it was wet and windy, it wasn't cold, so no need for a fire. I have though started lighting a fire recently, as the weather is much colder now. Your time in Greece sounds exciting. Take care, cheers Alan
@@ChrisJames1973 Congratulations, welcome to the club, hope you get a lot of pleasure from your boat. You can’t actually see where I’m moored when passing on a boat. No doubt our paths will cross some time. Take care Alan
Another very interesting video Alan. I was a bit worried when the rain really stated to come down when you were heading to your favourite spot, but it seemed it stopped before you got there. Normally I would not expect it to stop until you've moored up!!🤣 Happy boating.
Likewise Robert, once it starts raining, it doesn't always stop. The issue with rain is it makes the grass slippy when mooring up, so you just have to take that extra bit of care when dealing with the mooring lines. Cheers
They was a rummer just before we left Yelvertoft the farmers was turning the house back to a pub but it was a joke someone trying to wind the locals up mentioning no names 🤣🤣
What might be interesting Alan is finding out about the trip boat besides the house I was talking to some one who thinks it has a bit of old history to it 👍👍
Dave Whiteley The trip boat is with the opposite house. I saw it out on the cut this year for the first time but no passengers on board. Do you know if it is ever used as a trip boat?
@@MyNarrowboatVenture Morning Alan I think it has but wasn't to sure some one else on face book was asking can not remember we're they thought it was from now
Good morning Alan, as I’m moored at Crick we know that section of the canal extremely well. Interesting about the house to let I wondered about it. I like that tree as well a good shape. We have moored at that spot many times although we tend to go a little further and moor just before bridge 28 (and the dreaded winding hole). If your trip was last week we were moored up at Norton junction for a couple of days because of the poor weather.
Hi Ian, I read about the house in one of the free Canal publications. When heading north, I also like the straight beyond Bridge 26, and like you beyond Bridge 27. This coming series of videos was filmed some weeks back. Cheers, all the best Alan
I enjoy you videos. They are relaxing, but more than that you seem like a normal guy having real life adventures. I dream of doing canals maybe for a summer. Can you rent a boat for a couple of months?
That's very kind of you to say, thank you very much. I am sure you could hire a boat for some months but would need to plan it well in advance, as boats are usually hired out for short periods like a week or two, so finding a two months slot might be difficult. Cheers Alan

It is raining here in southeast Virginia and it is nice to watch your interesting vlog. Stay safe and enjoy your trip on the canal. The views are lovely! Do you stay at the marina mostly in the winter or cruise then also?
Hi Velma, thank you for your lovely comment. I spend a lot of time in the Marina, particularly in winter but will pop out locally for short trips. All the best, take care Alan
Hi Alan, can you live aboard on a marina without a residential mooring? What's the difference between a mooring and residential mooring? I'm looking at buying a boat myself so watching all the narrowboat Vloggers to get as much information as possible! Really nice to watch your Vlogs as you keep it real.
Thanks for your comment. Most marinas are for leisure boaters but may have a few residential moorings, particularly for staff. A residential mooring will usually attract council tax, whereas leisure moorings do not. Some marinas will use different terminology for varying levels of usage, it is rather a grey area. If you want to spend a lot of time in a marina, I suggest you ask about high usage, as the mooring fees will vary. Hope that helps a little, cheers Alan
Hi Phil, I generally cruise with it down but have had it adapted to use it when in the up position for winter cruising. The problem is that I can't half collapse it. It really has to be fully up or fully off.

Blend breakfast and drink it. Lol!
I don't have a blender Mark, cheers.
Did you have much experience of narrow boating before you bought one?
Hi Allen, I noticed your pram hood is missing
Hi Phil, I generally cruise with it down but have had it adapted to use it when in the up position for winter cruising. The problem is that I can't half collapse it. It really has to be fully up or fully off.
